Arm wrestling

The only way to get strong for arm wrestling is to arm wrestle. There isn't much you can do in the gym to strengthen your joints (elbow and wrist) and tendons for what pressure gets put on them when arm wrestling. There is a lot of technique involved so if this other guy arm wrestles a lot I wouldn't bother pulling him. Plus if you have no idea what you are doing theres a good chance you would put yourself in a bad position and he could easily break your arm, check out Magnus Samuelsson pulling Nathan Jones at the worlds strongest man a few years back (youtube).

arm wrestling is all ego, which im not saying is all wrong, a bit of male bravado is fun every now and again, but arm wrestling is just a recipe for disaster.

these guys dont even look that strong, i guess when you have guys who are benching 300+lbs the chances are a lot more real. think how long that would put you out of training for.

Take it from me. A month ago I arm wrested an older guy from work when he challenged me. I beat him and as I was in the furthest press position (bottom) I tore my rotator cuff. Shoulders had a bit of tendonitis and it just let go. I felt a tingling in my hand and it has hurt so bad ever since I can't do chest or shoulders or back squats.

It hurts when I sleep or every right arm movement period.

Saw the doc yesterday, I have an MRI next week and the doc says he has a bad feeling about this one...

5 months of rehab after the surgery. Gonna cost $1000's too!

IT IS NOT WORTH IT!

Challenge him to a squat, dead, bench competition. Much safer!

Wow! I've arm wrestled a lot but always made sure my elbow was outside my shoulder and went down if I felt too much pressure. Good thing I did cause that would bite to break an arm like that.

DON'T DO IT!!!

This is the result of my accepting a STUPID arm wrestling challenge!

5 days in the hospital and 6 years out of the gym! The worst pain ever!
