arm is same size when i flex it?

hey just curious if this is normal, but i noticed lately that my arm is the same size when i flex it as it is when it's relaxed. i mean it maybe gets like 1/4 of an inch bigger or somethin and looks more defined but for the most part is the same. what's up with this?
 
uhh you got tiny biceps maybe?

i dont think there is any science behind it bro.
 
^^^ haha yea he's right. You just have small arms bro. My arm bis almost burst through the skin when I flex. My bis were by far the hardest bodypart for me to get to grow(even harder than calves). Try some dbpreacher curls, it worked for me.

my arms are 17 " the last time i had them measured . i don't think u would call that small.......
and that was a while ago before the cycle i'm currently on right now< > so they may be more .
all i'm saying is when i flex they just get harder but very little happens with the peak or width.

17in is nothing to brag about bro,,,I dont think id wear a tanktop or a cutoff with arms that size,,,,but for an 18 year old they are impressive,,,keep up the good work and stay safe! nobody is here to discourage youbro

i know i'm not really bragging in fact i'm probably the most disatisfied with my arms more than any other body part.. (besides calves) i'm hittin arms tonight and i'm unleashing the animal baby :chomp:

LMAO! that's great, i'm somewhere around 11 or 12 % and i have a six pack, when flexed, and you can see veins on my delts and some on my bis, my forearms and hands are covered with em, and my legs and calves have em. so he's right, anyone whose %BF is less than mine would have to be vascular, or more so than i am. and just for the record, i have one of my friends(another personal trainer) pull out the calipers, so that's pretty close. they say calipers are up to 4% + or - accuracy. but that is a great quote, my arms are actually bigger when flexed.

damn i love how seemingly everyone on these forums is good at making me feel like shit . i'm about to go hit arms right now geek fucker . thanks thats just what i needed. :evil:
 
17 inch arms with 10% bodyfat is NOTHING to be ashamed about!! Sure you aren't Mr Olympia but you look better and are in better shape than 98% of the rest of the population out there!! :)

17" arms means you are in great company - Steve Reeves had 17 1/4" biceps IN HIS PRIME.

bro, you took me wrong on that one. LOL i was saying his quote was funny, and how he was right about the body fat thing. i wasn't sayin anything bad bout you, but i'm glad yo ass got in the gym, and i hope you had one hell of a workout :D 17 inch arms aren't small bro. but, you gotta admit, that was funny about the 'you can't flex fat'. fuckin great, it still makes me laugh.

oh my bad i just jumped to conclusions on that ... i can be a moody fucker sometimes :chomp: and yeah i did have a great workout thanks.
 
about the body fat thing...i have been down to 7 % bf and my abs showed but i wasn't ripped like i thought i should be. I think genetics play a part in that. I alway have good vascularity, but was not ripped like I wanted. Maybe work on training your abs 2-3 times a week and that would help. But at 10 % bf you should be pretty vascular in the least. Good luck bro.
 
Well i am a freak to the whole bf/veins rule. I only have a 4 pack if im tensed since im holding a little fat and water on my belly, forearms, bi's, shoulder, calves and parts of my quads veins are ripping out.

Now that in "ON" , i stay pumped for the whole day..even so that it starts to hurt..Maybe your staying pumped so theres not much room left when you flex..It already is flexed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
It has nothing to do with size or fat %. It has to do with bloat.

This is my problem with the pros today. When THEY flex, nothing happens. They're just in a different position. Look at film clips of Arnold, Zane, Nubret, Scott, Draper. When they posed, their muscles popped. That's because the muscle was more solid. Once you gain an extra inch of water (not fat) there's no where for the muscle to go and you won't notice a difference flexed or relaxed. The size has been eclipsed by the drug and the muscle itself is no longer as solid.

Nelson doesnt there diet 16 wks before comp help that ? ( getting rid of water ect...)
 
Crap my arms are just 15 inches. I can't get my bicepts to grow.

The guys today have more access to stims and diuretics and they're still blobs. There comes a point where you're simply "overstuffed." You can only carry so much mass on any particular frame. The problem is, too many people want the short cut to more size -- and they get it. At the expense of quality muscle.

Larry Scott tells of the first time he bought a new drug he'd heard of called dianabal. He said the guy who sold it to him was huge, but looked "funny." Kinda puffy and inflated. That's because back then, guys only knew size from natural training. Of course, once you have that, the drugs will send you onto the next level. But whenever the drug growth exceeds the "real" growth, that's what you get. Stuffed muscles that don't flex.

I have been having the same trouble!

Been doing Drag curls, weighted chins, deadlift and heavy rows. My arms feel like their going to fall off after this!

Aint nothing to it but to do it ! :chomp:

some people would suggest pinning into your bis so the oil stretches the muscle facia--i do it--not sure if it works but it looks cool for about a day but i have 36" arms....combined (sounds better that way) :)
