Went to the embassy and was told that for husband to go to the US with me we need someone to back us up, mostlikely it will be his uncle who lives in Tucson, Arizona, I wanted to live in Sapcecoast FL so this fucking changes everything :(

Anyone from AZ that can give me feedback?

Im actually a US citizen, but for him to come with me I have to prove he will not be a burden and must support him a 120 percent above the US poverty limit ($18000 per year) here in CR of course I dont make that so I need like a financial backup´per se.... and was suggested to have a good relationship, live nearby.... poop... hence AZ... well, its closee to CA and Vegas :D

What do you mean in terms of feedback? (asks the person from southeastern Pennsylvania) Climatically it's a desert as opposed to semi-tropical, temperatures are similar, way less humidity in AZ. Who knows, you both actually might have a slightly easier time finding work in AZ :whatever:

Don't gripe, imagine if your nearest fall back lived in Maine or Buffalo, NY. When was the last time you had to deal with two or three feet of snow?

One of them is hot and dry, the other one is hot and humid. Not a catastrophically big difference, IMO. Not like coming north of the Mason-Dixon line, at least. Like I said, not like being stuck with Maine or Buffalo, NY ... or WI. Let's face it, she'd die of hypothermia in the Great Lakes region.

Classic example of the old adage: "No good deed goes unpunished".

Here you are, trying to do the right thing and bring your husband legally into the US and the US authorities make your life hell. They are only treating you this way because you are a citizen. (god, this makes me angry)

If you were an illegal alien the US authorities would be lining up with housing vouchers, free medical care, translation services and the rest of the illegal alien grab bag.

He's dead weight that's just holding you back. Move to FL without him and I'll check in on you from time-to-time and make sure you're not too lonely. :D

My wife is from Phoenix and I have visited the region enough to have some opinions (hey I have opinions on stuff I don't even know about).

Weather is very nice 9 months out of the year and FACKING hot 3 months. Very dry arid desert climate - has a beauty in its own.

Housing is expensive compared to Texas cheap compared to California. Massive housing bust right now so should be able to get a good deal. Most houses are tract homes and don't do much for me in the style category. Swimming pool is a must.

Job situation is quite bleak right now. Most of the economy is just growth from good weather (snowbirds moving in from the north). Tuscon does have a nice university and an nice feel around that part of town.

Probably enough IT for you to find some work. What does hubby do? Will definately have to compete with immigrants for labor jobs (not many of those until housing pics up).

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the embassy approvedm I can go now, just need some cash for rent and deposit, must sell my car, seems he can back us up but i can live wherever i want so im sticking to FL

cause i would never think a bro would want to go from CR to florida, willingly...

Well it's not just the money, let me elaborate:

Your average CR salary is $500 per month,
However:
Your minimum cheap so-so city rent is $300
Your minimum monthly basic grocery bill is $100
Eating with a friend in a cheap rest or going to a bar and barely drink/have fun is at least $20
Home ownership will be at least $70000
Getting a 42" Tv is at least $1300
Buying a so-so cell phone is at least $200.
There is no CS so returns and warranties are almost imposible, no real BBB or places to defend urself as a consumer...
Streets are unsafe and ur house HAS to have bars to decrease break ins.

So in general, you earn poorly and everything is insanely expensive, and when you actually get something nice for yourself it might get stolen or be a ripoff

BUT, if you have money or live in the rural areas it's beautiful and a lot more safe, beaches are beautiful, we have the most wonderful biodiversity, forrest, nice people, volcanoes, it's not all bad, but it sure aint heaven either.

I want to go back home to the Us because I will have a better quality of life, I would like to retire hear in the nice places but I need $$$ of course to lead the good life...

"FML" is fucking dumb. stop doing that you fucking idiots. your lives ain't so bad, fucking whiners.

anyway, AZ is horrific. one big boring look alike shopping mall.
