This thread and my reaction to it is a prime example of why I'm not qualified.. First I'm a total newb, I just thought this thread was an appreciation type thread... I was taking the Implict Aptitude Test this morning, on Race, cause it measures subconscious attitudes toward black and white percpetions.. and will post the findings later, very shocking... a little distracted as I was kinda taking breaks on reading about his test and posting.
Second of all I love it here because of the freedom to post some silly shit that I can't express between asking customers if they have a barnes and noble card, and on campus and here are the only places I can unleash my quirky self.
Hell yes I can be banal and am not above it, and I don't wanna be constricted to being something I'm not. Second, I have the belief that how we see ourselves and our identity is changing due to online communication becoming more entrenched in culture. People used to say well its the internet, shit doesn't bother me, bullshit, its a medium of communication, an expression of thought patterns that influence you more than you think... as an example I know more about alot of you than I do peeps I work with and other grad students... Whether its the phone, a speaker shouting out blue light specials at Wal Mart, or a whisper in your left ear, its still a thought pattern with intent... to communicate... I respect this, and don't wanna get flamed too much, nor flame other peeps and ruin their day. Digression here, but our identity will become even more entrenched in online communication as internet continues to morph our culture into something else.
I'm not qualified for such a position that requires a high degree online experience, and understanding of what is actually proper and not proper, and while I love it here, in June I will be attending med school and won't have time to post some grad silly shit, or ask question about dating, relationships, and engage in convo with all of you...
This place has become sanctum for me, and I am grateful, but would be the first one to say I'm not qualified for this position that requires I believe alot of experience with online culture.
However, I am totally honored that Ortiz, BRR, Cindy, HR, Shogun7, AV, Southern, Walli, EC, 4T, lartinos, would support me in such, and the kind words absolutely kill me, I
all, but yeah have to agree with RG, I"m not ready for such an honor.
I just got a text from my cousin who says for me to remind to you stop that crying bullshit at end of the happy ending.
