Are your parents rich?

Nope.
On my fathers side, all of my family have more money than they know what to do with. On my mothers side (they divorced when I was a baby) they just make ends meet.
My Grandmother is worth millions and didn't even know it when my grandfather died. She doesn't live the high life though... They were dirt poor when then married and my Grandfather started a few very successful businesses.
My father passed away in 97, and all of his inheritance from my Grandfather and Grandmother will be passed along to me and my sister as well as partial ownership of the family company.
I've yet to see a dime, and though my Granny could hand me a check right now to clear every debt I have, she is a believer of making your own way. I respect that. I've done ok for myself since I was 16 yrs old.

My dad worked at ford until last year, so he is middle class. They spend almost everything on a house though, so by their house you would think that they are upper-middle, I suppose.
I grew up with my mom until I was 16 and moved in with my dad. My mom was so poor that we didn't have a TV, a phone, or a car. We sometimes had a hard time keeping food on the table. We had to move lots because we couldn't make the rent. Sometimes it got really bad. I had a rough childhood.

My parents pissed away so much... If they had only learned to truly work together and, of course, the gallons of alcohol that my father consumed didn't help.
So to answer your question - NO, my parents were never rich, nor will they ever be.
I will take care of my mother even though she is not a nice person because no matter what - SHE IS MY MOTHER, but my father is on his own.

I am 1 of 4 children, Two of us are from a first marriage and two from a second. The treatment between the four of us was very obvious. I still to this day, no matter what my mother has done or not done for me... Pour my heart and soul out and extend a hand to help in any way possible. We DON'T get along at all, too much time together will have us in a dispute. We are like night and day... But I guarantee you (not to toot my own horn) I've done more for her than all three of my siblings combined and will continue to do so.

I swear I get like 2k/month in allowances sometimes, haha.
