Other than obviously hauling your asses to the gym all week long to improve yourself physically, I am wondering how many of you fellas do the exersises that(IMHO) separate the Men from the Boys, and make you a cut above the rest of the guys at your Gym.
1. Deads. No Bouncing. Pause at the Bottom.
2. Squats. Straightbar. NOT Smith Machine. Below parralel or a.t.t.f.
3. Straightbar Bench Presses. I figure everyone does these. No Smith Machine though, and none of that having a spotter yank it off your Chest and then have him lie and say "Barely touched it man". I hate that.
4. Pullups. All the way to full elbow extension.
5. Close-Grip Bench/Reverse-Grip Bench. For Tris
6. And the one that I RARELY see anyone do(at least where I train), but IMO are the best movement for Trapezius/Shoulder/Forearm, & Spinal Erector development: Power Cleans.
I personally love these power movements because for one, they are the hardest to do, and thus the reason that alot of people do not like to do them(other than injury). For two, they involve alot of form as well as power to become strong. I love the challenge of trying to get that form down on shit like Cleans and Deads.
So do you guys do these "hardcore" lifts, or are you a Leg Extension/Pec-Dec guy who can't figure out why you aint getting thicker?
