Most people I meet these days are pretty cynical, by their own admission. I think I'm more of a mid point between the two but if I have to pick one side, I pick idealism.

BUT in today's age I'd say the majority of the population consists of cynics, maybe that's a cynical view but who knows. You don't meet many idealist these days.
