LOL Thaibox

For real though, f420, Tyson wouldnt have boxing gloves on. His already very very dangerous punches would be twice as bad. He's compact and quick, even at his age. And in that ring, he wouldnt be bound by boxing's rules.

A few thai kicks to the thigh to loosen him up, maybe a couple up high and Tyson isn't gonna want to fight. or, he's gonna try to block the thai kicks with his hands and when they drop, he's gonna eat a couple elbows...

Are you talking about me? A real fighter doesnt fight in a club or bar, some fight in a restaurant, a movie theatre, at work, or in a parking lot. A real fighter only fights when there is no other alternative, no matter where it is. Its not about kicking some guys ass that picekd a fight, its about protecting yourself when someone leaves you no other alternative.

no i was talking about the original poster

Go back and read it again, bro. Its transparently obvous that you missed the fuckin point of my thread. But you are right, I am really an insecure pussy.:D Please dont hurt me.

6yrs Brasilian JJ here. I haven't trained in several years but I say go with BJJ definitley and learn the art of suprise. IOW, if your suspect in your art your opponent is likely to be prepared for your take downs. Back when I trained I sparred around quite a bit with fighters of different arts. Be fast, be accurate, and know how to defend on the ground and wear your opponent down. My biggest oponent was endurance. Tangled up for a couple of hours on the ground looking for submission is not an easy task if you don't have the endurance to hang.

Whats up Beffy,
Tell me Man, You ever been in a fight with a ring experienced Thai Boxer or been on the receiving end of a hard Thai Kick. If the answer is No. i recommed you go to your local Muay Thai Gym and train with those fellas. You'll develop a lot of respect for their art. I used to box and was getting ready to compete in my First Golden Gloves Championship. Until i jumped in the ring with a Thai boxer and realized that his push kicks were so effective, i had no chance of coming. Their punches might not be that good. but their elbows and knees and kicks more than make up for it.

I havent ever fight or trained with someone who is experienced in Muay Thai. I havent yet studied it either, so I'm not even sure what the style is like. If I fought anyone who relied on kicks, regardless of style, they'd better hope they land a good shot in the first few seconds. If they didnt and I got close enough to grab them...bye bye.

Most people who rely on distance to win fights are often very surprised when you close that gap quickly and make it a grappling and/or power based fight. And I know some 160lb guy isnt going to have an easy time throwing me like I probably will with them.

yes,

I was trained in martial arts by my father one time I went to visit him. I didn't learn much and I asked him how he learned it and had so many students. He said he just kidn of makes it up as he goes along. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. He says its funny all the suckers that still come and be trained in martail arts by him because of the few things that he makes up that actually work... I lost a lot of respect for my father. After the training I had worked up a little seat and went to take a shower; I mean my ass was sweating and smelled terrible. I turned on the water and stepped in and slipped and cracked my head on the side of the tub. He said "all yea, that is where i make my gear for all the other suckers". I left that day to fly back home and haven't spoken to him since. I have lost all respect for my father.

for someone who is interested in learning to defend myself or better yet kick some ass when I have too, what form of fighting would you suggest? I'm thinking submission style since fight's usually end up on the ground anyway. I have alot of these gym's in my area. Tito teach's in Huntington, and there's all the TAPOUT guys around here too. Anyone know of a good place around Long Beach? Also, how much should I expect to pay per session?
