I have heard of gay men doing this but I'm wondering if they allow straight men to adopt children. I must somehow acquire a son. I'm the last person to carry on the family name and i'm not doing so well with finding a wife. I was going to ask my neighbor if she would marry me but she hasn't been home for the past week. I think she's on vacation.

No. Ask yourself - have you ever heard of a single man living in an apartment or condo working a $60k job adopting a kid here or overseas? Esp a newborn?

Most contries are very much against foreigners coming in and taking their kids. They'd rather have them live in squalor. And int he us, there's no much profit in adoption - way too many rules - to ensure that adoption doesn't become a 2 week drive-thru process that gives out kids to anyone who's got money. (hence why angelinas and madonnas have to go out of the country).

Lots of politics and red-tape involved. Very tough for married coupes let alone singles. You're way better off finding a $$surrogate$$. Way easier.
