Are all Doc's idiots?

So, I goto the Doc today and tell her my nipples are really tender from the gel. So, instead of prescribing injects, she says to cut the dose in half. So, instead of 4 pumps now she wants me to do only 2. I then proceed to tell her how the gel is affecting me hanging with my girl and playing with the godchildren, trying to convince her of injects. She says she has to prove the Gel failed to my insurance then maybe goto injectables. We talked a lil more and she told me she isn't comfortable letting me do my own injects so I will have to come to the office for them.

I may just make an apointment with an Endo to see what he says!

that way they can charge your insurance an office visit for the injection..

time to get a different doc.. i see her point,,.. but time to shop, you are a client, a customer, as soon as they start to understand that the better..

I would site money, travel time, cost of gas and convinience when making a case for inject. Especially at home.

Thos are all very valid points however, they simply don't trust giving a you a script for Test. I located the so called best HRT Doc in my area and she gave me the same song and dance. She was up front and stated that she simply didn't feel comfortable giving me a script and that I would need to schedule visits for my injections. In my case I wouldn't have gotten charged for those particular visits but, talke about a PITA. Needless to say, that was my first and last visit there....give me a friggin break

That's the fact. You better believe that if your doctor has a chance to make a buck (or a few hundred) off you or your insurance company, he will take it in a heart beat and not even give it a second thought. He couldn't care less if you're inconvenienced or if you have to sell your kids to pay for it, as long as he gets his.

Your doctor cares about your health, but he cares about money even more.

I am sure you work for free??

most docs are idiots about AAS, growth, managing sides, diagnosis and treatment -- tell next md you have ED that is non-responsive to gel (which occurs in a small but significant population of patients) period end-of-story -- have your new doc get chart notes from your old doc if need proof

No, rest assured that all doc's aren't idiots. They have handled academic/intellectual challenges that would leave most people bewildered and frustrated. As for the argument that your doctor wants you to come in for injections for monetary gain, nothing could be further from the truth. The pittance that third party payers remunerate the physicians office as an injection fee barely covers the cost of the syringe. The real problem is that your doctor is very concerned that you are in fact the idiot, and can't be trusted to do something as mindless and simple as self administering an intramuscular injection without completely screwing it up. Bear in mind that when your doctor sends you out on your own with your perscription and instructions to self inject, he is responsible for the outcome of that advice. If you accidentally inject into a venous sinus with poor injection technique and end up with a pulmonary injury as a result, your doctor will be on the hook for that unfortunate circumstance. So you see, despite the fact that your doctor is not the idiot in this story, he will be held responsible for the idiot generated negative outcome. That is why he wants you getting your injections in the office, plain and simple.

LOL....funny shit! I have to agree with one point you made, and that is-if the doc thinks or has a bad vibe about what your intensions are about the test prescription they will ask you to come in. In that case you have no choice but to go in.
On the other hand, no offense but docs are pricks at times. I went to an urologist and all he was interested in was the visit money and wanted to do as many tests as he could EVEN knowing that he would not treat me in the end. Then he refered me to an endo (who I found from my research was his buddy..LOL). That to me is being a crook more so than idiot. He was lucky I did not file a report with my insurence for fraud. Also, the guy was somewhat smart in how to make money off ppl but he sucked as a medic and I'm very confiedent that in terms of steroid usage for HRT purposes and such I know way more than he does.
