Anyone recommend a good running shoe (men's) for overweight runner?

I'm probably 30-40 lbs overweight, but have recently started jogging.

Anyone recommend a good men's running shoe for overweight joggers?

Your weight is but a part of the decision matrix on shoes. More important than your weight is whether or not you pronate. Need to go to a good running store and get yourself a gait or stride analysis.

If you do not pronate (if you are a neutral runner), I strongly recommend the Nike Shox TL 2. I have tried NB and Saucony and been disappointed but have never been let down by Nike. I had two pair of the original Shox TLs. I will be getting a pair of the new ones soon for my long runs because the upper is mesh. These are great shoes for heavy runners.

New Balance 751's/764's are very comfortable, cushioned and hard wearing (under pronators)- bought these myself.
Brooks Radials aren't bad, whilst Asics have one of the best stability systems on the market.
Asics gel- Kayano's (best, good for over pronators) or 2080's (neutral)- friend bought these, says they are really comfortable, as they are specially designed for a cushioned stability ride. They also have a broad toe box for comfort. Just make sure to get your feet checked by someone experienced. You need to know whether you are a under pronator, neutral or an over pronator. So go to a specialist sports shoe shop, so you can get your shoes tailored for your foot type

A really good new balance is the 991 it has cushion in the forfoot and the heel it feels like your walking on pillows. The nike shox are good but no real good cushion in the forefoot. The 330 series of nb are also really good from new balance. Reebok actually makes a very comfortable shoe there just not very wide so depending on how wide your foot is if you would be able to wear them. Saucony are very comfortable also. I mean there are numerous types the best way is go to a shoe store pick out a brand of each and ask the person if you can jog or walk around the store for a min and test yourself. BUt defenitly try out the 991 made by new balance by far the most comfortable pair of shoes you will own!!!

Go to the running store and get fitted with the proper shoes based on your size, weight and running style..
It will save your feet and knees in the end.

most of the shoes cost around $90+...

Do not just go buy them w/o going to get properly fitted first.
