Anyone on here a computer "gamer"

I purposely didn't buy that game because I wanted a social life.

I played UO for a couple years. It consumed me.
 
I see how it could be addictive, so I chose not to try it.

I used to be a gamer.. haven't played now in 3 years or more.

Used to play Warcraft, Starcraft, Doom, Doom 2, Quake, Quake 2, Duke Nukem, Counterstrike, Diablo, Diablo 2.

I had to give it all up, i saw many people throw their lives away with that.. World of Warcraft literally owns some people's lives. Spending 4+ hours completing Molten Core over and over and over.

I played all those games, too. I still play the first person shooters. Not nearly as addicting because there is no charactor building involved.

I just stay away from the organized clans, ie CAL for CS. I did that for a year and have to make "practice" 4 times a week was a drag.

yeah first person shooters are better because you can play for 10 minutes if you want and walk away.. you don't get sucked in quite as much. Still fairly addictive though.

One of my best friends started playing Star Wars the real time version and that was over a year ago, I have seen him three times in the last year. When I go over to his house to visit him the fucker won't even stop playing.

Been playing the Unreal series for years. I can't stand RPG/RTS type games as my attention span is too short. While playing UT2003, I found a WWII mod called Red Orchestra. I then became a tester for RO and have been doing that ever since. RO won the rights to make a retail standalone version which is set to release within the next couple months. www.redorchestragame.com

I also just ordered my new gaming rig that should be here in a couple days.

ASUS A8N5X Socket 939 Mobo

I've never really had a really good computer so I can't fucking wait for the parts to arrive.
 
My friend who introduced me to the game is going through marital issues, and guess why.... yep, always on the computer. Must be 20 hours a week on there after work.

We are heading down to AC this weekend to unwind. Should have some good stories for everyone on Monday.

Fan of 1st person shooters, especially DOD and the WWII themed ones. Ravenshield is good too.

Spent many a rainy day on Age of Mythology too.
 
I rule at Age of Empries 2.

I had all the hotkeys down and practiced the quickest way to reach Imperial Age and unleashed my trebuchets while everyone else was stuck in the Castle age.

It got to where I was taking 2 and sometimes 3 people on online.

Yeah, WoW is just too damn addicting. Thank god my new job requires so mcuh damn time, or I would have never gotten back into the gym. Hell, I still have my EQ account that I've had since beta heh. Ahh, the live of a closet gameing dork.

Heh, alot of WoW gamers here.

I play it too, I have a 60 paladin and a 60 warlock on Stormrage. I don't play the pally at all anymore, and I only log on to play the warlock once or twice a week now, usually to run Molten Core or some other raid with the guild. I'll probably play it more when the expansion comes out, but for now I'm just too busy in life with other things.

If I started seeing someone seriously, I doubt I'd play it at all anymore.

Wow. A fellow RO player :) Only reason I bought UT2k4 for myself.

Also a WoW addict. 60 priest & mage.
 
lolllll just started wow up again for the first time since august..... got a 17 warlock on magtheridon.... got a few other higher level chars no 60's tho.......i lose patience at like 45 with most chars... plus i haven't found a char that i love yet.... hopefully lock is it. waht server
 
I hear stories about gaming blowing-up marriages... but my theory is that they are empty marriages and the gaming is just an outlet for escape.

Today's online gamer was the guy who in the past came home from work, drank 1-2 six packs, and passed-out in front of the TV. Back then, either being an alcoholic or a "TV widow" was what was blamed for blowing-up the marriage.
 
I used to put in 15-20 hours a week on SOF2 and CS. Getting accused of cheating everywhere got to be irritating.

My most satisfying shot ever was a time when I had an Arctic/AWP and someone started shooting at me from atop a roof. I spun round and scored a headshot without taking any time to zoom. This means I did it without an aiming cursor. Hooyah!

Obviously, I got accused...

i love no scopes on halo 2........ ownage........ u dont need to headshot with an awp tho..... kinda gay that a torso shot one hits
 
The real trick with the awp is lining people up. It was annoying when they reduced the damage on leg shots since they also reduced the carry-through damage to the person behind. It was bad enough that someone could jump and take an arctic shot but that they would also save the person behind them was enough to drive me back to the colt and ak.

Yeah, I played it for a little while. then quit, then went back to it again, but then my gf wanted me to stop, so i did and were a lot better now.
Glad I stoped, because I know I could have effed my relationship with her up if i didnt.

LOL, I still use the Duke Nukem 3D mouse pad that came with the game. I like to think of it as an antique.

then played cal-i in 1.6
then did private lans with cpl soure team

now im done with games and just lifiting instead games waste of time :D
 
This thread hasn't been answered in awhile but here goes. I was a big Anarchy Online player... They blew it with Shadowlands and made it like every other fantasy online game and the Alien Invasion was pretty flawed..
Warcraft can be a huge timesink but the wifey doesn't like computers so I don't play THAT much....
I do sneak in some Rainbow Six as of late though...

right now im playing through halflife 2 for the second time, as well as CS:S.
Computer games offer a completely different experience from console, they are much more immersive! all consoles are good for is sports games

We should form a guild. But a very,very well organized guild. Not quantity...but more so " quality ". In other words....do a guild but the RIGHT FUCKING WAY! I believe the guild should have 2-3 of the same classes. For example...2-3 rogues ( my fav! ), 2-3 priests, 2-3 druids etc etc.

As for professions. We should all choose the right professions that help us all out. No selfishness or fucking greediness!!!! Have a skinner/leatherworker, mining/blacksmith, herb/alchemy, mining/engineering, gatherer etc etc. That way we can all share each other resources and we can all make money for ourselves and for the good of the guild.

And make sure that everybody is kind, mature, respectful, considerate, helpful and plays as often as possible and throughout various times of the day. That way when player 1 logs in at 12noon...he/she is not left alone because everybody else can only log in at 12midnight. See what I mean?

Too many guilds are just over populated with people you didnt' even know existed in your guild. Or have people that are plain assholes. Just plain selfish. Always too busy to help you out. Too fucking greedy to share their professions with you etc etc.

This is why I remain alone and do quite well. I have been in many guilds and always have to leave because of the immaturity of the guild. And also because of the greedy fuckers on them.

And while we are at it. Why not reroll horde? Why not?! Why? Because they look ugly? Fuck that! they are the most powerful of all! They have the best racials. They OWN the Battlegrounds and PVP! There are less players on the horde side hence there will be less LAG!!! Also, ( this is a fact ) but more older, experienced and mature players play horde. Why? Because too many immature little kiddie fuckers choose alliance simply becuase they are more aeasthically pleasing.

If you are interested in doing a guild like this. A guild to own all guilds! Then contact me and we will try to accomplish this. But it must be done RIGHT!!!!

Lol my mains are both 2 level 60 hordes mage and priest.
2-3 isnt going to cut it raid wise. i dont think u know how much of a wow junkie i can be :)
(level 60 in 20 days real life)

I wanna roll alliance becuz in PVE they dominate and i wanna be in th gulid that downs Hakkar/RAG/NEF/Every outdoor boss first. what is ur highest level char. sounds like u need a good guild.

the guild i am in is 65 or so members. good class balance and during raid times we have about 50 or so on. u have to hit 60 in this game to actually start to love it.

all good guilds share professions. I am an officer in a preguild for te next new server. if u want in let me know but its going to be pretty hardcore :) if ur up for it i can get u in and if it doesn't owrk out we can start our own. let me know

How the fuck do you get a toon to level 60 in only 20 days!? You must be playing for like 22 hours per day then! And you must be one poor character! Don't you try to make any money? Do you at least try to have fun playing the game? Seems to me that you just keep doing the same quests that you know will get your toon up to 60 real fast. Come on bro! Play it and enjoy it! Do different things and different quests. Go to different places and work on your profession to make some money.

i spent so much time messsing around at lower levels. i can get to 60 in about 5-6 days played game time...... thats not that much per day but its alot lol.
ya i know what quests get me immediately to 60.
going to 60 after the first or second tmie is a grind that its only fun if u treat it like a race. and yes im poor until 60 but once ur 60 u can form for rare patterns that only you can make and then you become WAYYY richer then leveling professions at high levels.

for me te most fun in the game is raiding with a guild of people u really like and pvp'ing with rediculously good gear. until 60 i dont have that much fun unless its my level 19 rogue twink with double +15 agility enchants on his blue daggers. lol

Im addicted to wow!!

have 3 lvl 60's pally, hunter and rogue on frostwolf. I train at home and use my mod to Scan the AH while training lol.
