Anyone know what my max bench is...?

I did 315lbs 5x last night. After that I couldn't even do 355 1x I was so beat
 
seems like you should be getting more than that bro

I think it's pretty good..
Keep in mind I'm tall, it's a lot harder to move those weights

I've never been able to break over 375.. I'd like to do 400+ but my bench isn't my strongest point

most I've got 1rm was 365.. I'm trying to figure out is 315 5x is equal to that or if my bench dropped

with a shirt i was sloppily getting 405
natty and raw proly 315 for one
 
i'm currently working on getting back up to my max. i let it slip. :(

I've never benched with a shirt and never even tried over 400

I have been getting over bronchitis too so that could have influenced my pussiness last night

with a shirt- 250
without- 205 i think. 210? something around there. i forget.

I don't know dude. I usually do a minimum of 6 reps per set, so I wouldn't know how to convert that into a 1 RM number. I train alone so I never think it's a good idea to try. I'd imagine maybe 50 lbs over a 5 RM?

Guys bust my balls for light weights I lift. But, I look better than them.
 
lifting heavy helps for picking up people who fuck with you and throwing them through a window..

I never do 1 RM, but am happy with the amount of times I can push or pull weight. Different strokes.

that's the way i think, and it's true.

i dont train for strength, i train for hypertrophy.

but still, being strong would be nice

315x5 should be real close to 365. bb.com has a 1rep max calculator. For me its not very accurate as far as weight, but percentages it will get you close. 5% off for a 400lb lift is 20lbs, and 20lbs for me at high weight, is a big difference.
 
somewhere between 340-365. I really don't max out . The heaviest I went was 365 x 3 plus a couple of forced reps after I did 315 for 10.
 
maxing out means a lot of physical therapy. Before I ever juiced I was lifting too heavy too often and had a couple of stints in rehab. lol! I no longer lift 3 sets of 3 reps. But I loved those workouts. Could get crazy strong fast.

according to that i can get 431 SWEET

I did 425 for 2 and it had me at 440 or something like that, but I pressed 460 the next week. If your only 95% on any given day that is a big difference in weight. This was in my retard days of lifting too heavy. I'd be lucky to get higher than 405 right now. but I can push 155lb dumbells on incline press for 8-10 during bulking season.

damn my gym only goes up to 125 lb dumbells and i use those for tricep kickbacks. :) haha.. but nah i'm not really good with dumbells and incline benching i dunno how to handle em properly without feeling like i'm gonna fuck up my rotator cuff..

405 i could get down and up real quick like, no pause and def not 3 white lights

damn bench shirts are crazy,

ya i can do 295x4 fairly easy, i was going for 5 though when i did it 2 weeks ago.

do you ever go light? like i worked out with really light weight yesterday cause my left pec tendon is having some issues and i went 225x12, 11, 245x8, 225x10. the high rep, of the slow and controlled sort. try it, its a good feeling if your always going fatty PL explosive style like i do,

today i deadlifted 315x5 no straps, then 405x5, 435x1, 455x2, i wanted to try for a 3rd but i didnt.

then i ran a mile in 8 and a half minutes!

lol that's a can of worms you are opening up with the pls


one big pro tho is it will prevent shoulder injuries and pec tears if you're going to do long term heavy benching.
 
The shirt is technically refered to as a 'power corset' and used to hold a fat powerlifters stomach in so he doesn't suffer the embarasment of women in the gym lining up to make mocking comments about his lack of a lean, ripped, infomercial-ready 6 pack.

If you're benching 500+ then a shirt's a good idea.

a pair of clownshoes at my old gym used to spend half an hour greasing each other up to slip into their S&M gear, then do half reps with 225. Not the best use of training time.

If you train with it and learn how to use it, it can add 30% or so depending on good technique.

its a powerlifting thing.
it doesn't make your muscles bigger, but most powerlifter's don't care how big they are.

it makes you lift more in competition. which... is the point of powerlifting.
