Why would ANYONE run anywhere? Running is BAD, BAD, BAD!!!!
If your knees hurt from running then your upper body is either too heavy or your legs are too weak...or you've already injured yourself due to one of those things. Running is not bad...our bodies are designed to run. They aren't designed to do bicep curls and carry 50 excess lbs (be it muscle or fat).
So yeah....lose some damn weight (yes muscle if need be) or strengthen the muscles around your knees. Otherwise you won't be able to run.
