i was looking at purchasing them earlier today...dont worry over it. the store does say it usually ships in 3-4 weeks. if you ordered them around xmas time, that was about 4 weeks ago. give it another week, and if they dont show up, call them again

I've bought stuff from there before (bands and videos) and they took about 4 days to get to VA.

I looked at their chains before I bought the bands and I thought "damn, they must be ripping people off for charging so much for 5' of chain." Then I went down to the local Home Depot and saw for myself how expensive heavy chain really is. Elitefts is a good deal after all.

how exactly do i hook them up to the bar?

depends on how you are using them. if you are gonna do floor presses with the chains, just drap them over the bar. if you are gonna do regular bench, use the 3/8" links to suspend the 5/8" links to the bar. you want a few links to be on the floor when you are at lockout so that the chains dont sway back and forth during the lift. so make adjustments with the snap hook. same set up for the bench with chains if you are gonna squat using the chains. incase you dont have the chart that is on the web site, here is the reccommended chain weight to use according to your bench and squat max:

Recommended chains for the bench press:
Under 200lbs bench - 20-30lbs chain
200-400lbs bench - 40-50lbs chain
400-500lbs bench - 80-90lbs chain
500+ bench - 80-90lbs chain
Recommended chains for the squat:
Under 200lbs squat - 40-50lbs chain
200-400lbs squat - 50-60lbs chain
400-500lbs squat - 60-70lbs chain
500-600lbs squat - 80-90lbs chain
600-700+lbs squat - 90-100lbs chain
800+ squat - 120 - 140lbs chain

Anyone got a link for ordering???

RADAR

go to elitefts.com
click on the shop link
then click on the link "great gifts for under $100"
on the page that comes up, it should be the 6th item down on the left hand side. just click on them, and order away.

also, i started a thread a while back about chains. lots of great info in the thread. here's a link to the thread...

I love Elite FTS, but their chains are very expensive. I picked up an equal weight/size from a hardware store locally for less than half the price. BUT were I not a poor college student, I would still pay their prices -- they make TOP NOTCH products.

I purchased a custom sumo power rack from them back in mid '03 for about $1600. The thing is supurb. I cherish it. More than any car I have ever owned. Shipping was really expensive, though... I wasn't happy about that, but I still ordered it. Then the day it came, I found out why it cost so much to ship: the damn thing came in a damn full size semi-truck!! The funniest thing was watching the semi go through 3 people's yards going around the tiny court. The driver was cool... "I hate residential deliveries!"

Anyone have a discounted reverse hyper to sell a poor student?? :verygood:
