I'm from NY and am considering moving to a place that's cheaper...thinking Atlanta or Phoenix. How's ATL, give me the low down.

Georgia as a whole is a neat state.
Atlanta is just plain fucking big! Athens is nice, as are alot of the small bum-fuck towns around the state. Sleepy and southern, very nice. The only place I have not been is Savanna and I'd like to go there fer I'm dead.
I've been to most parts. And if you've ever been to Washington, GA. You'll recognize my name on damn near everything in town...lol! Yup, that would be my great, great, great grandfather. As a result I have relatives scattered across GA, despite the fact that I'm Canadian. Go figure.
And I'm the last with that name. In fact, I have in my home several peices of furniture that the State Govt. would like to have back for their museum, but they can kiss my ass....lol!

Getting lost in atlanta after midnight on the weekend is scary,especially down the peachtree area.
I asked one dude for directions,he handed me this folder (i presumed to be a map) and said this will take you anywhere you want to go,i have to give him 50 cents for it,but i figured what th hell.
Well i drive off ,finally find a lit up place to pull over, unfold my so called map...WTF???????
There were nude pictures of dudes wanting to meet dudes,chicks wanting gang band,chicks wanting Black & White...etc along with phone numbers.
I even called a few but all i got was an answering machine,so i left a message that i was lost,and was at so & so....i never got a call back.

Oh my. People get mugged or worse doing things like that. A firm I use to work for is in that area (next to the Wyndham hotel - across from Jocks and Jills), not the best place to be at night. You should be able to find the hotel - all of them are across the street from each other.

I've been to ATL twice...made some friends, people are really nice there, I'm used to rude Jewish women being that I live on Long Island. But anyway, I was thinking of Buckhead if I did move there. I just want to know how it is crime wise.
I LOVED Phoenix but its a huge move considering I've lived in NY my whole life. I want to be able to fly home without it being an all day event.

I'm from the northeast and been in Atlanta 8 years. I'd never want to go back to blizzards again. Atlanta is a pretty nice place to live.
