They're cars are better so nothing wrong with that. I don't know how many mechanics I've talked to who have told me they wouldn't be in business if it wasn't for American cars.

Yeah, Ford has the number one selling vehicle for 21 years in a row and the number one truck for over 26 years. Asian cars never breakdown? Never listen to a fuckin mechanic about anything. When you can fix your own car then you can talk shit.

My neighbor works at a ladder factory, is asian and drives a Harley Edition Ford.

Funniest damn thing I've ever seen. I laugh my ass off every time I see him pulling in/out of his driveway.

Asian cars (Nissan etc.) breakdown FAR less than American. If I can't listen to my own brother or the myriad of statistics out there, where do you suggest I turn to for evidence?

A quick quote from Consumer Reports as an example:

Consumer Reports survey also stated that while the domestics were just edging out the European brands (18 problems per 100 cars to Europe's 20 problems per 100), the Japanese and Korean cars still have a healthy lead at 12 problems per 100 vehicles. In pure mathematical terms, that means Asian vehicles are 50-percent more reliable than American vehicles. And by the way, the industry average is 17 problems per 100 vehicles, so the Americans as a group are still "below average" in terms of reliability.

Ford sells well.
Doesn't mean it's better quality.

GM owns almost every damn American car company anyway. So it really doesn't matter when you compare American cars to American cars.

Buy a Ford truck and try to sell it five years with 100k miles on it.
Then buy a Toyota and try to sell it in five years with 100k miles, which do you think will get a better price?

or a Nissan or a Honda. Why do you think that is Squat? Loyalty to American vehicles may be admirable but it ain't practical.

I've never owned a foreign car, my first car was a 5.0 GT and it's been Ford ever since. I drive an F250 my wife drives an Expedition, it's always been Ford. So yeah I'm probably loyal to a fault. My brother is just the opposite, he's never owned an american car. He mostly has Nissan,an Xterra right now and the wife a Murano. I drove the new Titan when it came out and the fullsize SUV from Nissan. Just not for me.

And as far as Ford being number one in sales and not quality? That logic might hold water if it was just for a year or two, but for over 26 years? If it wasn't a quality truck it would never last that long.

There hasn't been a trusted 3rd party monitoring sales and quality for 26 years.
JDPA isn't that old.

So anythign prior to JDPA is sales hype.

Did you even read the quote I posted? and that's a marked improvement from where they used to be.

It's patriotism, loyalty and comfort zone all rolled into one. If you value your money and reliability in your vehicle though, you throw that other shit out the window.
