I ruptured mine and had to have surgery...no detachment...Doc said it was due to overly strong calves and leg muscles...did it while playing softball rounding first base, everyone heard a "pop" and I fell to the ground...my foot was just hanging there...had no control over it...I was in denial for 3 days...went to a sports doc..he put me in surgery within hours...worst injury Ive ever had...I know why pro's who have this happen rarely recover fully....the pain made me sick...hopefully this is not your case....

I had tendenities down there and played on it during my bball season

it was the dumbest thing I've done since it never recovered and only after about month and a half after the season did it stop hurting

there was days where I would wake up and I wouldnt be able to walk, Id have to hop to bathroom untill my foot warmed up

my doctor told me to see the therepist in order to speed up the recovery but I just skipped that one and let it heal by itself

yea i was squating heard felt like a small pop... alot of pain felt like i strained it..... luckly im fine now but it hurt like hell when i wrote this thread

How much were you squatting?

I pulled my badly on a trampoline, what a bitch!! It didn't effect my training much. I supplemented running with the recumbent bike, iced, and alot muscle rub.

After about 4 wks post injury I started some light stretching, took a very conservative approach because I am a competitive 5k runner and was cautious about it reoccuring. Right about now it feels good.

The true test will be tommorrow. I am racing for the first time in months. I'll let you know. Good luck

no, but i recently dropped a chain saw on my foot and cut it wide open. i severed one tenden completely and cut another one. its been 2 months and im just now learning how to walk properly without pain. i was on strict bed rest for 3 weeks and cast and cruches for 5 weeks or so. everything from my toes to my upper leg pretty much wnet into atrophy. there are still muscles and tendons that are not fully functioning. it was in some ways a life changing experience.
