Anyone ever lived in/been to Sault Ste. Marie, ON?

hey folks...been a while since I posted on this board...most of my time is spent creeping all the threads laughing at everyone!

But, I've got a girlfriend who I'm madly in love with who lives in Sault Ste Marie and I live just south of Tampa, FL...and I'm really considering moving there to be with her. Its a long story, she just moved back there. I'm taking a visit this month to try to form an opinion...she is from there and really loves it, but I'd like to get anyone elses opinion??

Anyone with expierence with the Soo I'd love to hear!

She's not worth it. Without even seeing her, or knowing anythign about her, I can say with full confidence that she's not worth it. Know how? Because NOBODY is worth moving from Florida to Sault Ste. Marie!!! It's a Northern Ontario shithole, and the nearest major city (Detroit) is 350 miles away. They have mosquitoes the size of hummigbirds up there, and the winters will make you question why anyone would want to live in such a god-forsaken wasteland.

if you don't want to have a job then go for it!! There's nothing there and the snow is rediculous ... The people that live there mostly are missing teeth and drive 19$0s pickups...prb rent a house for 250 a month there and work at mcdonalds for 6.50 an hour

Bro I have been there and its nice to visit for a couple days then get the fuck out-
The only way I would live there is if I was offered a job paying around $200,000 a year and I bet there are NONE - LOL

If you're a real simple guy (no I don't mean dumb) then you might like it.
Life is slow and you basically just sit around and complain about the phone bill or something along those lines.

When you go south you'll go somewhere that us Toronto peeps still consider North LOL.

Go there in January, February or end of June if you want to know what it is all about.

My wife tried to get me to move back to her home town which is also a shit hole with no jobs in Nova Scotia about 10 years ago and I told her to go by herself....she went and came back crying 2 months later.

Some women are drawn back to mommy's tit and I'm not sure why.
