Back in February was about my 3rd week back from a 3month break due to tennis elbow and a broken finger.
I was doing chest and I started lifting pretty heavy because I was working in with someone and was tired of using light weights. Well I didn't warm up properly and worked out too hard.
My shoulder was aching immediately after the workout.
I knew I messed it up, so I took it easy for another 2 weeks, then decided to just take another break from training all together.
I took off for about 2 months, then I saw a doctor and he said it would be ok to go back to the gym, just workout light. He also said if it keeps hurting I'd have to get an MRI.
So I went back to the gym and kept the weights light and it still hurt. The weird thing is that my shoulder only gets hurt when I do chest (it aches for a few days after). I have no problems at all when I workout my shoulders (presses and everything). My shoulder workout actually makes the pain go away until the next week that I do chest again. My shoulder doesn't bother me at all during any other bodypart workout.
Next thing I tried was I didn't workout my chest for about a month, and I had no shoulder pains. I just started working chest out again and I'm having the pain again. My shoulder doesn't bother me that much during decline presses, and I found an incline press machine that doesn't hurt my shoulder that much either. But, my shoulder is still bothering me after my chest workout.
Does anyone have any advice before I have to go get an MRI?
Sorry for the long post.
