Mt friend bought a 60" Sony LCD projection TV there. It's been fine as far as I know. Another friend bought a Samsung flat tube TV there and had a problem with the picture. I guess it was stored too close to speaker equipment and the magnets messed with the picture. They took it back no problem and exchanged it. They offered to give him his money back if that was what he wanted. I think Costco is a really good company.
No , i like to go to the real high end audio visual stores so i can feel good and fucked when i hand over my cash to some smooth talking ex-used car salesmen dripping of brillecream and smelling of aqua-velvet .
I feel better getting talked out of my money then just handing it over to a teller after making the uninformed dissision myself ...
They have Viewsonic and Sceptre LCD tvs. I could get a 37" LCD HDTV for the price of a 32" somewhere else. I'm not an audio/videophile so I'm not sure I'd see the damn difference.

Some contrast ratios suck on off brands.
If you are wall mounting it, some of the cheaper brands require 4-5 inches between the tv and wall.....which defeats the purpose.
Then there are the obvious Off Brands tearing up easily.
Remote controls and the number and type of input/outputs suck on lower quality brands also.
