I have a starcraft 2 beta key and will give to someone who is going to use it ALOT.
I think video games are a complete waste of time. I would feel useless spending hours doing that shit every day when I could be working on building a future for my family instead.
That being said, my 7yrl son loves video games and I sit and play with him some times. My wife loves the Wii and I play that dance game with her some times too. In total I'll spend less than 5hrs per month playing video games. That is on the months that I actually do play. So far this year I've only played twice, about 2hrs each time.
Don't waste your time on video games guys.

video games are good in moderation. the problem is, they have the capability of sucking your life away if you're not careful. They're actually designed to be addictive, in the sense that they're made to engage you and have replay value.
i agree with BRR in the sense that when you spend too much time on video games you really do feel like you wasted your time when you could be doing so many other things. i stayed away from everything video games related except Madden and NBA for the past 6-7 years until last august when i got a ps3. since then i've had a few periods where i've just completely cracked out to a particular game or set of games.
but like hansel alluded to sort of, they're basically a means of an outlet. Some people gamble, some people pop painkillers some people drink, some people do cocaine, some people play video games all day. they all form as compulsive behavior that temporarily makes you feel good and serve as an escape
This is why I tend to shy away from online multiplayer type games. GTA IV was the last "big" game I played through (40-50 hrs), but never took it online. It's fun to throw on for a half hour to just fuck around causing mayhem, seeing what you can get away with, etc. On my own terms. I really don't think the whole online trend that games have going these days is healthy, both in terms of the gaming industry being taken seriously as a mature form of entertainment, and of course for the people playing them. Co-op has some untapped potential yet, but still it takes away from the legitimacy of the medium as something that could be artistic in any way. It's becoming so commercial and redundant. There are always exceptions though. I've heard Demon's Souls "multiplayer" was pretty innovative, and was sort of tied into the campaign as a hint system or something.
I played Killzone 2 online for a whole weekend once, but nah, the amount of time needed to stay "competitive" is just insane. Microsoft shut down the original Xbox servers earlier this month I think, and I just read that there are people out there who haven't turned their systems off since...just desperate to stay connected.....to what?
i want the game were you can drive/fly/hijack planes and go anywhere on the globe.
so you can steal a car in ny and drive it to florida then steal a boat a go to new orleans for some henikens.
something that real
Now, if a game was ever that real, would you ever leave your computer/TV? lol!

NHL10I just got an xBox360 Elite what do you guys recommend for games?
Rick, what happens if you have insomnia like me and can only sleep 2-3 hours a night....what do you do when everyone else is asleep and you already wrked 10 hours a day and did everything you needed to do that day??
I agree to a point, but the thing is, video games aren't the cause of laziness or lack of motivation, etc. Just like alcohol isn't the cause of someone falling down the stairs or smashing up their car. It's so annoying when some media bighead will blame some inanimate thing like it has control over a person doing something wrong, being lazy, addicted, etc., when with or without that thing that person has an underlying problem of some sort that would eventually perpetuate itself somehow. It's a personality trait, or disorder depending on the instance.
Also, video games can be constructive in the right atmosphere. For some examples, the military, teachers, hospital patients needing rehabilitation, surgeons, etc. all can use video games to personally benefit them in their goals or occupation. The point is to not abuse the use of them.
Furthermore, the video game industry is becoming more common place, right alongside the film industry, and there are a ton of career options in the field for those with enough talent. Hell some even get paid pretty good for doing nothing but playing them. Although I think that would take the recreational fun out of it myself.
I'm not blaming video games, or even passing judgement on those that play. I'm just stating that I personally think they are a fucking waste of time.
I enjoy playing them with my son, it is part of our bonding time. I'm a bad muddafuka at every game I play. I can pick up the controller and rock shit withing minutes. I'm drawn to them just like everybody else...
I just feel the time I spend playing them is time I wasted "achieving" fictitious objectives that have no real-world rewards. I would much rather have push the furniture to the walls in the living room and roll (Jiu-Jitsu) on the carpet with my son. Teaching him to pass the guard and sweep muddafuckers right off his back. That may actually come in handy one day, who knows maybe safe his life... But he likes to play PS3, so I play with him for a few minutes when I can. - He is only 7yrl so I'm not too hard on him about playing, but come his teens we are going to have to have to work on how he prioritizes his time.
You have goals. You have dreams.
There is always something to do. ALWAYS!
The work of those who want to achieve is NEVER done.
You have an MMA site in the works since last summer right? Whats holding that up?
You know there are new skills you can teach yourself, and new knowledge you can acquire to help you get a step closer to reaching your goals.
Not judging you bro, but giving you a very straight answer. Unless you are the "clock-in / clock-out" kind of dude, then there is ALWAYS something constructive to do on those sleepless night. Something you can do to achieve and build... Just ask needto.
!
all work and no play make jack a dull boy
Play?
NGR Please!
The fawk you know about playing young bor?
I play hard. I play for the trophy, for the win, for the name. Real life, real pain, real loss and real gain. The blood, the sweat, the bet that I'm not even at my peak yet. The kind of shit that WiiPS360DS can't even come close to mang. You got no idea bor...
