Anybody think there boss has it in for them?

Im talking about whatever you do is never good enough, stuff is twisted by your manager to look bad, petty stuff is brought up all the time etc....if so how did you deal with it? How did you cope with the stress?
 
Once had a boss like this, after a month of abuse I threatened to beat him over the head with a 2x4.. I was fired but never would have actually hit him with lumber lol. Just exploded. What's your predicament!
 
Almost made this thread the other day, lol.
In memory of my old boss, he is now dead.

Analysed to death, whatever I do is wrong, NEVER backs me up with abusive customers, very women dominated, Union rep is there every 5 mins to deal with complaints of managers apparantly, keep quiet and keep my head down but seems its never good enough

I'm currently working on this very idea...fuck answering to someone else


now I'm a shit because I have physical therapy and my dr has me out of work so I'm not committed to my job.

Interestingly enough...now I'm not because they clearly don't have my back.

I'm already workin on it man....I recently realized how close I am to a new goal
its not a wild amount of money or anything but its respectable and something I like with legitimately easy hours
 
im not quite my own boss yet, but i sure act like i run the place. in my mind oil production for the world would stop without me. it shows in my actions, and it does well for me
 
I've had only 2 outside jobs (5 bosses)and only one was super cool, the others were all power trippin. I won't get into details, but I don't take crap, so if a boss gave me any headaches or was unethical in any way, I would fight back. One was transferred, two were fired.
I've never been fired from a job. The company I was with for 11 yrs, decided to "reorganize" when I was on sick leave, so I sued them and won. Good times...now I work for myself.
I miss the pay check and AWESOME benefits, but I will never miss the traffic, bosses, getting up at 5am and sitting in a office all day with other angry employees.


There are pros and cons to both
 
Many bosses are not very smart or truly motivated people.
They just like to control people to feel like they are important.
They have shitty jobs in reality, but they are conned by their companies into thinking that they are important/special.
They are being used just like they use their employees, but they often don't realize it.
Not many bosses liked me, but some did. Most felt threatened by me.
 
never had a shitty boss, most were average or actually covered for me :D I did however have shitty boss peers, when I was night shift manager in the sportsbook in CR the morning shift managers were huge bitches that constantly messed with me, good thing we barely interacted
 
All my bosses have loved me, but I haven't loved all of them.

At the museum, I can do no wrong. The only problem is I'm always being given more and more stuff to do i don't have time for...but it's because I'm measurably better at it than everybody else.

I know that's the reason, too, and not just them trying to squeeze more work out of me. They almost doubled my salary on Monday. I'm pretty fucking excited about that. Not that I'm making some crazy amount of money before, but being single, childless and young, my old salary covered my expenses fine, so this will be awesome.

No. I hear them repeat what I say when they're in the same situation. Sometimes they just flat out come to me asking what they should say to someone about something going on here.

I'm great and horrible to my employee's at the same time. I harass them in the bathroom, then I buy them lunch to make up for it.
 
I had a sadistic boss that liked to rip all the buttons off my shirt in strip clubs.

At my bachelor party, when I drank too much and got sick in the men's room, he repeatedly hit me in the nuts with a broom handle.

Thank God he liked me.
 
No but seriously, if you're someone who regularly has issues with bosses (esp if it's happened with more than one job/boss) then chances are you're an asshole in the workplace and from my experience (professional and personal) those people have no clue that they suck. In fact, they usually think they're awesome and it's everyone else's fault.

That shit was funny. I walked in and caught her smelling her own armpits. She tried to get me to smell them, so I said I would if she smelled my foot. She agreed and I sniffed her pits, then I kicked off my shoe and when she went in for a sniff - I shove my toe into her mouth.

If I'm no late and do my job right by boss cant really do anything to me... so I agree with this statement, however sometimes they can change your hours and assign you more work just to be dicks, I've never had it happen, but I've seen it be done to others

Each boss I had trouble with had write ups over and over, not just by me, but by other employees. Sometimes, humans just suck as bosses. I worked in a very VERY male dominated environment and these men felt like they were able to get away with things.
My first boss was a woman who was personally sued by another employee and she was then fired after enough people complained.
I was at my both jobs for a very long time, so I ROCKED BEOOTCH

Oh well I wasnt talking about you specifically. I was speaking in general terms based on my professional and personal experience, which is why I said "chances are". Of course there are exceptions to every rule.
