Anybody do chinups and pushups at the gym???

pull-ups are great for the back! i hit all pull-up angles every now and then. 4 angles is 1 set. do 3 sets. . i dont do pull-ups all the time. but when i do, i get a good workout. just look at some old arnold workouts. you'll see

Ok, ive had this peeve for a while. My philosophy is that the reason I go to the gym is to do exercises that otherwise I cant (I dont have a bench at home, I dont have a power rack, I dont have 1000's of lbs to play around with). I can do pushups any time of the day, and at any location. Pullup bars are cheap and you can buy ones, or, you can go to a local park and find anything that will do.
I dont mind people doing chinups and stuff, but I find it weird that someone would waste their time in a gym to do pushups on the floor. Maybe people enjoy the atmosphere and find themselves being more motivated?
Its not my thing, but im not bothered by it so much as long as people arent in my way (when they never are) so its all good. To each his own.

maybe because they do pushups in with their workout which includes stuff they dont have at home?

pushups supersetted with flys or something is cool. or with rope tricep pulldowns

I do chin ups and push ups regularly. If you box and you don't do push ups you are short changing your workout... and chinups/pullups are the best back exercise there is.

my friend always does pushups saying it's better for his sex than the bench, lmao. myself, i never bother, not even for a warm up, sometimes i do them with my friend on my chest day. As for chin ups, we have 2 pull up bars and also 2 assisted machines for doing pullups and don't know why you'd get funny looks about them because they are great. If your like me and carry a bit of fat, the assisted pullup machines are great because i pull as much as lean guy who does pullups.

Also: I've heard pushups with a weighted rucksack can really increase your bench press, however i'm not sure where they'd fit into a routine. I'd only do them at home though, because if you took a bag into my gym and bagged up a 20kg you'd probably get booted out for stealing :p

My arms got bigger when I stopped doing isolation exercises on them and started concentrating on heavy benching, dips, rows, DLs and squats
