Any trombone players here?

I'm looking for a cheap one, but I would like to know what to look for in getting one for a complete beginner. Also, how hard is it to "pick up"? Any other tips are appreciated too.

I've played a off and on for a few years now. Do you have any experience with music at all? Can you read it?

If you're serious about it, I'd probably go with a bach trigger horn, it lets you play 2 different notes in the same position, down a 3rd I think. That's what I have, but I haven't used it in ages. I think brand new it cost about 2k.

How hard is it to pick up? That depends on musical experience. For a complete musical beginner, one that is not used to hearing the intervals and that does not know your tuning, its not going to be easy. I would recommend a private instructor. You could go to a university or probably even a high school to get with one.
