hand buffing takes the majority of the time, I don't have a polisher yet so you have to do a 3 step process basically scrubbing the bike with 3 different "grits" of polish to take away the paint imperfections caused by washing and riding. Very time consuming but I enjoy doing it over the course of 3 days.
 
Owned several, currently a silver/black GSXR1000 lowered, stretched, several performanuce upgrades sprockets, engine and exhaust chips ect..

I'll snap a couple pics later after it gets a bath
 
very nice, im thinking about picking up a cruiser if one comes up for the right price. Have riden 883 harleys and a road king before and loved it.
 
You'd love the sportster if you like street bikes. I had a black 1200 it was so sweet.

Someone pulled out in front of me and it got totaled with less than 1000 miles on it...

Bikes handle differently at different heights. The stretch is because I'm compensating for a short pen15.

Nahhh the stretch is because after all the performance upgrades, I couldn't keep the bike from standing up when I got into it.

If you like "turns", you'd love the roads up here. We love riding up here in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Unfortunately, many "flatlanders" do too and every weekend we get reports of newbie riders who are also unfamiliar with the roads up here that "failed to negotiate a turn". It's gorgeous riding up here.
 
My current bike's primary function is to go fast as fk in a straight line...fuck turns.

Actually, lowering a gsxr 2 inches makes it sit pretty average compared to other bikes, so I can still handle well.

After 2010 or 11 they had more average suspension height, but we're not all ballers like strong bow so buying a 2016 model bike in 2012 is out of the question...

Cool I didn't know that. I used to have a 2001 CBR 929 now I have to settle for the power of a Viper..I miss my bike

pfft...the front of my kan o tuna was lowered because factory it just sucks shit

my yzf600r was a tad lowered but that had to do with where my elbows felt comfortable..my buddies yfr1000 and his gsxr1000 that I rode frequently were all a tad lowered (he stunt rides)

the exes superhawk is stock height and I like the way that feels but hondas are like drinkin gas station coffee when starbucks is next door
 
oh...and I lowered a cb1000 once just to be funny...that did not actually turn..course its a dinosaur

Ofcourse factory set up on a Kanatuna would suck. Its a Kanatuna! Not a Gsxr!

Dropping the triple down 10mm max is acceptable, not changing the dog bone.

Stunters dont count as "riders". They are a specialized field and They do all kinds of crazy shit to their bikes.

three worst things to ever happen to me was comin around a corner at peg scraping lean and have a truck pull out in front of me after he ran a stop sign...dude in the truck bitched me out when I miraculously survived highsiding on to someones lawn..I threw my helmet through (starred) his fucking windshield..I knew the asshole and he wisely took off


second was having another BIKE run out in front of me from a side street while I was goin 110...that dude got my visor flipped up and heavy middle finger action..I did almost shit myself

third was getting stung in the fucking ass my some hornet or something while going about 90 mph and grabbing a fist full of brake so bad out of reflex/reaction I started to do a rolling endo..I didnt dump the bike but the dues I was riding with laffed their asses off when I pulled over and dropped my bike on the side of the road to frantically pull my pants down...welt was the size of my palm...
 
oh...and the only motorcycle injury I ever sustained was backing my bike out of my garage ...slipping on oil and breaking my ankle :( very humiliating

I dumped an 86 shadow 750 in a turn because of loose gravel but I was only doing about 30

Then I was on my way to work on my brand new sportster and some lost fuck pulled out in front of me on the highway and I broadsided him doing 65

That one got me pretty good

yeah...the other half got waffled head on both vehicles goin 65...lost half a nut to the gas tank...troo story

bikes frame was broken in 4 places that I counted and the forks were totally tucked under the frame....I built that little bandit for him too...his first bike
 
Road rash was worse than the broken bones I had

Fuck road rash. It was on blacktop too...

Saw a jackass one night hit an uncovered manhole and started tank slapping and bailed into oncoming traffic. I was in my truck and almost hit his bike. Found out later he had never ridden before
 
that sucks....the manhole thing...that really sucks

gregs rode pretty good or I wouldnt of put the bike together for him...and it was honestly just a fun little bike...nothing speedy
car crossed the yellow line and nailed him

the nut injury, a crush injury to his leg that opened his leg up from the ankle to the knee clear through to around the bone to his calves...fascia split and everything
and about a million lacs on his upper arm from glass of some kind of the car that didnt cube..the lacs were just terrible...two yrs later and it still lets a piece of glass out now and again

no broken bones but the balls needed a lil surgery

he went for about an 80 ft flip through the air then skidded across the highway on his side then got up and tried walking off the road <<< this is all according to bystanders
 
Jesus, I got lucky and only broke a collar bone and some ankle/knee bones and a wrist.

The road rash was the worst because they had to scrub it clean of blacktop....

How about you stop cleaning that little bike and Learn how to ride it. Fuck your Chicken strips are huge.
Those upgrades are shit if you cant even ride it hard bone stock.

Hahaha I know right I just a noob making my bike look as good as possible and taking care of things.....I never ride it at all, I don't know how yet. BTW why is there only one headlight on at a time?!? :worried:
 
It's in the blood here... For "daily rider" I have a 2000 R1 (too old for anybody to steal, and cheap insurance), and I have 2 vintage bikes I ride once in awhile; 1985 Honda VF1000R (the full race version of the Interceptor, and the first "full-bodied street-legal rocket bike), and a 1985 Yamaha VMX12 V-Max, which is a great cruiser, and has enough HP for accidental wheelies in 5th gear ;-) , and of course my username sake KX250. And once in awhile I'll do the track with no motor.... '80s Mongoose freestyle BMXer.

some day im heading out here or something like it. Nebraska is boring as hell for roads. Stretched 1000's are the norm for drag. I do head to track days in Iowa a few times a year.

I love that crossplane crank sound on the 09+ R1s at 1:30 in the vid.

I've ridden that road many times, but not like those bros. Hands down; I'm not that good as to be confident at those speeds. My pucks only have a few surface scratches, and honestly most of that is from kneeling to check the oil window ;-) . Some of those turns are on the edge of a 500-foot cliff, and no guard rails, and I'm too old anyway.

Lol, Hondas are like that. One Lo beam one high. theres a mod for that on the Cbr forums.
