Any Land Rover fans here?

I have always loved the Range Rover Sports, but the inside of them suck! I don't know why they don't give in already and make the inside more appealing like infiniti, lexus,etc. You spend all that money on the truck and the inside looks cheap and simple.
 
I've toyed with getting one, I like how some of them look but I've never owned one.

In the back of my mind though I am always reminded it's a Ford which irks me.

i hear ya. Me and my gf were looking at the LR2 but then we were reminded by someone that this was nothing more than a beefed-up Escape...
 
:) My hubby is looking at buying one.

I'm not all that keen on 'em to be honest, but, he seems to want one. Soooooo....
 
I know a couple of guys I worked with in New Zealand that have a 4x club and thats all they drive. The swear up and down that they'll out do anything Jeep's made.

I don't want to spend 100K on a 4x I'll want to take out in the weeds. I have my toy Jeep, and a couple other 4x that work fine and together they might be close to the same cost. I don't see why they're so expensive.
 
The only Land Rover I would buy is the Defender but unfortunately, it's not available to us North Americans .... :(

Expensive because of the name. I won't buy one as much as I love the look of the outside because it's a waste to spend all that money to not be happy with what you are looking at every day on the inside. Not a fan of it at all. Would rather by an X5 it looks even better than that.

A former client of mine has a 110 nicely loaded in fantastic condition and when he bought it off a friend of his whos wife said to him it's me or the truck he bought it for 3k with 6k miles on it. (LOL - you can tell who really had the last word)

I used ask him all the time to let me drive it until he brought back to CT to store away from the salt air.

I love them as well.

LOL @ you hating Fords. I bought two new Chevy's, one Tahoe and when they couldn't straighten out the tranny problems they bought it back, and a new Z71 that I kept all of 5 months.

I have not even stepped on a Chevy lot since then.

Why I will never buy anything, but my import cars. Others just aren't reliable enough for me plus don't look as good, but that is only my opinion.

bmw used to own them. bmw wasnt making any money from the investment. Ford Luxo line bought them (jag, AM, Rover) later ford sold AM to a group of investors who owns LV and other fashion items etc


the over rover thats looks decent and is fun to drive is the HSE sport


btw who said the only good car out of the UK has never seen an AM. gorgous the best looking interior hands down

This guy know his LR stuff! My Disco has the same engine as the RR Sport, minus the supercharger which is an engine from the Jags (4.6L gas sucker).

The Porsche Cheyenne is so over rated, Horrible 4x4, looks cool and goes fast for what it is, but 20k more then a new RR Sport without the the 4x4 capabilities. Same with the X5, horrible 4x4 not ment for anything buy cruising wet roads. And correct about the LR2 and the Ford Escape. My Ex had a Escape and I kinda liked it lol.

I love the Defenders but the cost of one here in the states is insane! If I was going to buy a Defender I would want the 110, they look so tuff!

i got rear-ended---should never have typed that--about ten years ago while driving a range rover lwb--the car that hit me was doing an est 55-60 mph---i just had mild whiplash--and a bent bumper/hatch/broken window--the other car looked like a ball of crumpled foil. should never have typed rear-ended....
 
FYI I believe Ford has found a buyer for Jaguar and Land Rover. I read the other day in the WSJ they were selling the units and someone stepped up to buy them.
