Any ideas what causes these symptoms?

Hey!
I'm a little curious about this strange thing that happens to my trainingbuddy.
He has been complaining about something strange things that happens to him every now and then. Often when he eats a larger amount of food, especially when it contains much carbs, this happens:
He sits down and eat. About half an hour later, when he gets up from his chair and starts to move around, he bloats up. His veins on his arms almost dissapears and he can see the difference in his face and i.e abs. He also starts to shake a little bit and his heartbeat speeds up a little and he starts to sweat a bit. At the same time he feels "strange" and he says colors gets more "colorful". This may sound like bs, but it aint.

Any ideas, thoughts etc?

thanks

I would say when he takes all those carbs at once his muscles are sucking up full of glycogen which will also cause water retention or a swollen look.....Need to watch his sodium and cut out the starchy simple carbs..

sweats, tremors, confusion are signs of both hypo and hyper glyceamia if i were him i would be at the doc cheaaking to se if i had diabetes bro.

the bloat as said is due to the water coming accorss cell membranes with the gylcogen so that is explaianble it is the other symtoms that are of concern.

what is a starchy simple carb carbs r starchy or simple- he needs to lay off the simmple ones e.g. sugar, dextrose, glucose, any of them in a syrup also. fruit although is classfied as having simple sugar in fructose isnt however take a while for the stuff to be converted to glucose so fuit is cool.

see a doc i would be concerned if he gets sweats, confucion and trmeors after eating carbs especially simple ones. just get him to check his thirst, urine, and blurry vision are symtoms of diabetes. get it checked wont take ages just needs ot give blood and could increase the lifespan of certian organs by identifying this sort of thing early

either hyper or hypo glycemia like was said above
OR
he could be eating something that he is allergic to. when this happens is there one food that he always eats when this happens? if so, this could explain it

Return like a lot of white rice, white pasta, white bred, starchy carb that is a simple carb....correct...Dont see where the confusion is???

tbh never heard of a starchy simple carbs im a medical student aand the carbs you have mentioned are simply- simple carbs cos if they were starchy they would no longer be simple

he's hypoglycemic, he needs to watch his diet. The fluctuation in blood sugar is what's causing the problem.
