go to download.com and search chess, you'll probably find something. Or you can go to chessclub.com and download a program called blitzin, then you can sign on as a guest for free anytime to their online service and play games against real guys...though most of them are nasty! Yahoo also has a free chess area for online games I think. g/l

I play on yahoo..... a little rusty now though.... my rating there was over 2000.... I like 10 to 20 minute games......

www.chess.net is the best.

You can play against computer opponents or other human players... they have a rating system and tournaments and various ways to play etc.
