As a reflection to what has just been said. Because some Black people he's met or witness behave a certain way, does that mean he's assuming all black people act and behave that way...No it doesn't.

Perhaps I didn't grasp those concepts in my Govt classes...With the exception of the Presidential Election which is decided indirectly by the majority based on each states Elections, and Supreme court justices who are appointed by the Pres(indirectly elected by maj) confirmed by Which is it house or senate???Oh thats right those people are voted in by the majority as well. How does checks and balances not indicate the majority rule?

"The People" in the context of voting was defined as I always understood it, "Citizens who meet all laws pertaining to and who in turn vote electing by majority"

I'm Italian/Sicilian and Irish. My ethnic groups have been oppressed in the past too as well as many others.

I would not call you a racist for what you said but it is your opinion and you deserve to express it.The generalization about ALL blacks whining is NOT true because many of US,yes I am a black man, decided a long time ago that we would get educated,get good jobs, start our own businesses , and instill strong values in our children to aspire to do the same.As far as the black kids hanging out in groups, well all schools have clicks and I imagine many people here could look back and see the weedheads in one corner, football players in another,chherleaders in one , brainiacs in another, and so on.BET was started by the johnson family who did very well with their hair care products that catered to blacks and hispanics because companies like REVLON did not have the products that we needed and they saw a market and catered to it.You can not argue with that because the other white companies were not doing it so they filled a void and now have a several hundred million dollar company.BET WAS SOLD to viacom several months ago and and the johnsons are going to start an airline which will be a first for a black company. TELEMUNDO caters to my spanish speaking brothers and many enjoy it because it is in spanish and has many acts and cultural things that you wont see on abc or cbs and the same for BET. I stand on my two feet and will never beg from you or another regardless of his /her color. Then once the product was out the others took notice and wanted to strike a deal but where were they when they were starting off? Whites already are a minority on a global scale. Even the black population in this country is growing at a much slower rate than the hispanic. So everyone is a minority in one context or another. When we can finally see that even members of a race are composed of different subgroups down to the truth that we are all individuals can we actually start to make any headway.

I wont turn the other cheek when you or anyone else wants to start trouble

A college football coach of mine once told me that as a kid he was told by his parents to never take any crap from a white man. He was smart enough to realize that no one should take any crap from anyone, and that race is immaterial. I decided that if he could overcome this setback and be the best he could be, then so should I.


I agree that racism is fear personified. However, deep seated anger against another race based on historical implications and daily stress can also serve as a basis for hidden hatred (smiling when you're really frowning). However, there is the appearance that blacks in confrontation with whites are trying to take out their frustration on whites regardless of knowing whether or not that person is even a racist. So it seems that lashing out against the powers that be also includes white people who are not at all bigoted or even involved. So you have to realize that the line drawn by one party can cause the line to be drawn by innocent people as well.

I think the perception by some whites is that blacks want equality on their own terms, regardless of the efforts of the many whites who would also like to see this achieved as well. Historically, this has been shown in how the whites who helped in the liberation process have been hardly noted in history. So even the fight for equality itself has roots in segregative tendencies.

At any rate, just my thoughts on the matter.
