I'm sure the resident gay guys get tired of answering these

Why does it seem (to me at least) that gay guys wear "fancier" underwear than straight guys? For most straight guys its either cotten briefs or boxers, but it seems like gay guys are more apt to wear skimpy skivvies.

Do gay guys like seeing other gay guys in metallic jock straps or thongs like straight guys like seeing women in thongs?
