Another fun Sunday in the dungeon. There was definately some pain felt in the dungeon today. By committee we came up with the idea to do reverse blue band, 2 board shirt presses for our max effort exercise. Things went very well for all of us. Screwball's new shirt seemed to fit him well and we all hit some good numbers. There were a ton of warmups that I won't bore you guys with but the final tally went as follows:
bigokie: 405 ( I am not sure, but I think this may have been his first time over 4 bills, so big milestone, look for huge numbers from him in the future)
Screwball: 600. It was the longest amount of time I have ever seen someone struggle under a bar and still lockout the weight. Very very impressive lift.
Benchmonster: 650. I smoked 600 pretty fast and easy, but the 650 was slow, painful and very ugly. My wrists and elbows were feeling pretty beat up by this point, and I was anxious to call it quits after this lift.
Then we did full range of motion reverse band close grip bench for triceps. We started off around 315 for 3's or 5's and worked up in 2's and 3's and 5's to a single.
bigokie: 405
Screwball: 505
benchmonster: 505
We then did band rows, dumbell power cleans and called it a day. Every training session that we get together is better than the last one. I am blown away at the level of commitment and knowledge of the other members of the okie crew. It is a priviledge to train with these guys, and anyone who has not had the pleasure is missing out.
Assylum members, we would like to extend an invitation to the dungeon. Maybe once every couple months we can make a road trip to the assylum, and you guys can come down to the dungeon a couple months later.
