Could I have felt any worse? lol I have been having a horrible time with my sleep lately. Maybe it is the weather...Wednesday it was 20 or below and today it is 60 or so. I laid down to sleep last night at about 2 am and at 7 am I was still wide awake. I finally slept about 4 hours and that was all I could sleep...not sure what is up. I kept having bad dreams and things...maybe just a lot on my mind.

My knees, hips, and lower back have all been achy for the past few days too...maybe I am trying to get sick...hopefully not.

Sled drag...I will get better at this!!!! I remember last year only moving 370 for a few feet. If you look at the pics carefully as well as the vid clips above...you can see how it digs into the driveway...lots of friction and HEAVY!!!

Not too bad at the end. I just couldn't get fired up at all. I wore a lot of clothing, as usual, and could never even break a thin sweat. I usually soak a few shirts when it is 30 degrees outside. Maybe it is just something going around...maybe I just need to get my butt in gear and ready for tomorrow :)

Enjoy

FYI...Cheese will be back in town to do events next Sunday. He said to tell everyone that he had a horrible workout on Saturday as well up in Illinois with his family!!! :)

do you warm up for the stones? do you do a max stone or do you do a set of them?

I cant see the front of the front squats.

do you have your hands like a clean recovery...or the arms crossed way.

either way im creaping up on you!

jeremys: Actually...no warm up on them. My back was hurting after I did 135 on SLDL's and I knew that the 415 stone wasn't gonna go. I was just in too much BAD pain and nothing was on the line today...not for the stones anyway.

Liftbig: Yep...dragging out all the 45's and the equipment...and putting it all back up isn't fun...lol. You like my Chucks? :)

endpoint: My arms are crosses. Last week I got a PR 275 x 1...this week I told myself before that set that SOMEONE was training harder than I was...I had to work harder.

CoolColJ: I have to sit back farther on my front squats. Watch the video closely and look at my knees. They go fwd on the way down and at the bottom yet rock back when I squat it up I believe. I must sit BACK farther... I hope to get 365 next week and maybe 405 before Boston...

Bfold that normal, I sit back pretty far as well, I can actually go 2-3 inches lower than when I full oly squat - the bar and my butt that is

B Fold,

Excellent work!! I have been saving all of your videos on my computer. I am building a library for extra motivation. Everything looked solid. Your frontal squat looked impressive.

I am really fond of the stones. That 415lb stone will come up soon. I love watching this event in the Worlds Strongest Man competition. I don't think they use anything heavier than 365lbs on this.

I also love the conans wheel and the log press. It is quite amazing that these athletes can press 330lbs over their head for 8 to 12 reps.

You will be there someday. Just keep eating until you can reach 315lbs.

Love the video clips!!

Just curious... do the neighbors complain about the noise with the sled dragging? In that one clip, you can see the light come on in the house as you get close to it. :)

louden_swain: THANKS!!! Very much. I'll get that 415 stone for sure. Had I loaed it today I was not sure how I would get it off of the barrel..lol. They mostly use 345-365 as the 5th stone at Worlds but they use much heavier ones in the US. I'll get there.

My neighbors don't complain at all. Most of the time they sit out on their back porch and watch us train. Their grand kids love it too... I usually try to be done training by 5 or 6 pm on Sunday evenings...so that it does not disturb their sleeping.

Looking good man. Keep it up!

Was just wondering... do you always workout with a hat on? Isn't that bad for you?

It is normally about 20 degrees out side when I train in December...it helps to keep the warmth in.

Outside is understandable, but i mean when you are indoors.

My Gym is a 2 car garage. I have 1/2 of it, or so, to use as my gym. Concrete floor with a piece of carpet over it, no heat, no air, old garage doors that don't fully close...it is freaking cold in there. Most of the time I can see my breath when I train...

No excuses...I loved it when an old friend of mine was telling me about how poor he was in college. All he had was an old bench and 300 pounds of weight that sat out in his front yard. He remembered wiping the snow off of the bench to do bench presses in the winter time...no excuses.

Damn would i love to train in the cold and in my own garage!
I think it'd be quite adventurous.

Keep lifting! :)

As always man, outstanding work!!

Makes me just wanna pull shit around out in the street. Haha. Keep eating and keep lifting hard. Hope you get some better sleep soon too. All this training ... you'll need it.
