Andy's first bulking cycle

Started Feb 26.

5'11" 177# uknown body fat
Former competitive distance runner, so hardest of hard gainers.

Goal of cycle: Get as strong as possible by adding the muscle, then I'll worry bout getting rid of the fat and holding onto the muscle.

Week 1-12 500mg (250x2) Test Cyp by LSP
Week 1-4 40mg Var ED
Week 1-12 50mg proviron ED

I had some problems with my ag-guys order so I'll be getting my liquidex tomorrow and I'll be running 0.5mg ED.

Diet: Eat everything in sight. Lots of oatmeal, pb&j, whey, tuna.

If I get to week 8-9 and I've just gained so much weight that I'm worried I won't be able to get it off I might throw in 350mg/week of winny depot for the last month and bring my calories down.

Week 1 update: Nothing should have kicked in yet but I'm up to 186 pounds. I'm having a hard time explaining this one, maybe 3-4 pounds of it is extra food in my body from eating so much more. I didn't think water retention would have even started yet. A tiny bit of breakout on my arm, maybe its unrelated to the test.

All comments, questions, or advice welcome.
 
I got my liquidex and have started that, o my it tastes bad. Totally bearable though considering the low doseage.
 
Well I gained 3 pounds from yesterday and this morning I was 191.8, the most I've ever weighed. I really shouldn't be continuing to bloat now that I'm on 1mg/day of arimidex and taking watershed (anti-bloat made by ABS).

I'm doing 2-3 cans of tuna everyday and at least 1 50g of protein shake. I've recently added whole wheat pasta with meat sauce, which I think is great. I use a medium amount of pasta and sauce but really load up on the ground meat. Right now I'm using beef and I'll go to turkey when I'm done. I go through about 1.5 pounds a day of ground meat. So day 12 and I'm +14 pounds of water.

mix with lemon juice or OJ taste goes away
 
Now that I'm mixing my liquidex with crystal light it tastes like I'm downing a mixed drink in the mornings.
 
New bench press PR of 240 pounds. I know it doesn't sound like a lot to most of you but I started weight lifting as a 5'11" 133 pound college runner, its taken me 3 years? (im losing track of time) to get to this point. I used to run 85-90 miles a week and when I found out discs in my back were degenerating I had to stop running. Ever since then I've been lifting. The first day I did the bench press my friend put 25's on each side and I failed to get the bar up. I was 19, I could run 31:20 for 10k (5 minute miles for 6.2 miles) yet I couldn't bench 95 pounds. The juice should be kicking in soon so hopefully I get a nice boost.

300 here I come.
 
Taking 1mg of liquidex is paying off, I was at 192.4 a couple of days ago and yesterday I was 190 and today I'm 188, so the bloat is leaving me.
 
194 pounds this morning, I think the juice is starting to kick in because the pumps I had yesterday were unreal. I'm not sure its a good thing or not but my forearms felt like they were going to burst through the skin.

My shoulder is starting to hurt-specifically the deltoid on my right side. I'm not new to lifting weights so its not adjusting to a bigger workload or anything I just think I haven't taken enough (any?) days off. Deltoids are constantly getting pulled on no matter what I'm working out so tomorrow I'm gonna lay off of it, ice, take some IBprofun and hopefully by friday it'll be good as new. It actually doesn't hurt too bad while lifting just afterwards I can barely open a door, feels like a dead arm.

Beisdes the shoulder the training is going really well, I feel stronger than I ever have especially on the deadlift. I use a diamond shape deadlift bar- not sure if there is a proper name for that thing- and I'm way up on the weight I was doing a month ago.

201 pounds this morning. I have upped my anavar dose to 70mg on the advice of others. Today I set a new PR of 250 pounds on the bench press. My shoulder is still sore but I'm treating it well after my workouts so I'm pretty sure I can get through it.

Var is awesome.

I'm doing everything I can to keep the bloat down but its just gonna be part of this cycle because I didn't start dex right away. +24 pounds in 3 weeks, I'll update in a week.

Weighed in at 203 today... I gotta say that my diet isnt what it could be. When I try to eat clean i get about 2000 calories and thats just not going to cut it. My plan is to bulk til week 8 and then diet with winny...then probably run clen during pct.

Because of back problems I don't max deadlift I just do it for reps, nor do I squat at all. For legs I mostly use the leg press and I don't max on that either. I pretty much don't max power cleans either I just do reps. I use my bench press as my gauge of strength because frankly its the easiest to do for my body.

Today I was repping 205 and did it 8 times so I thought I might be ready for 255 so I loaded it on and it took about 15 seconds but the bar went up so woohoo. On friday I'll try 260 and hopefully I get that.

My last back workout left me with a back pump that was just crazy so hopefully tomorrow goes a little smoother.
 
Ok so the whole world knows I'm on steroids apparantly. I've gained a ton of weight, my bench has "magically" gone up 20 pounds in the last 3 weeks. All the kids I coach are like "____ says you're on steroids" I certainly have never told any of the kids anything they just are assuming. This will get real interesting if the other coaches start asking. Of course I'll always say no but how else does one add such obvious amounts of size in a couple of weeks.
 
It's awesome to read your journal. Your progress is phenomenal. I suggest making sure you get the calories you need. If need be, carry a jar of peanut butter with you at all times and just scoop it when you feel even a little bit hungry.

As far as the people speculating go... Most know nothing about the body building world. Tell them you bought a bottle of prohormones (or that you just started creatine) and it's been working great for you. Also tell them that you've been eating like a horse lately.

Ok its friday which means chest day (I also hit it mondays) and that is how I measure my progress like I've explained before and today I maxed 265 so another 10 pounds! I don't know if its the amount of food I'm eating, the anavar, the test, or what. It's a great combo though cause I'm getting hella strong.

I am sporting a bit of a cold today which sucks because its REALLY hard to eat when you don't feel well. I will keep pluggin away but my body might have to settle for 3500 calories today, no 6000 like I've been aiming for.

The one area I'm definitely slacking in is the water, I don't know what happened I was so good about it for awhile and then one day I realized I hadn't drank water in like 3 days outside of my pills and with meals.

that was one big concern of mine. i defenetly dont want anybody to know... how do u explain it, lol. i guess ill just say no2 is magical.
 
OK so after a few days of bouncing between 202-203 I cranked up my eating hardcore and this morning I finally busted through and weighed in at 204.6 I went back to an old staple of mine, spanish rice, for a way to get a ton of calories. Eating 1 pound a day for ground beef wont help my already high blood pressure probably but what can I do?

After 4 weeks + 2 days I'm +27 pounds (lots of water of course). Today I benched 275 for the first time, woohoo! Like I explained before its the only compound lift I max on but I also noticed on saturday how my reps at deadlift are getting much easier so I am moving higher in weight there as well.

March 11 I benched 240, March 27 I benched 275
Anavar + Test is the bomb diggity

I have stopped with the anavar, I'm going to save the rest for the end. I'm planning on ending my cycle with Var + Winny going right up to pct with those two.
 
Just wanted to update the weight is now at 206 pounds.

EDIT: Today its 208. I will update later if I bench 280.

I'm on my way to 300. Like posted above I was 208 this morning. The gut around my middle which was non existant before starting is getting to be quite something. I really don't mind I'm confident with some winny and clen later on along with a reduced calorie diet I'll be able to get hard and lean.

After my 280 I did a couple noteworthy sets before everything fell apart.

I wouldn't have been doing such high reps but I underestimated how many I could do. Next time I'll do sets at 220-225.
 
Everyone on here likes to talk about how diet is so important so I thought I would make a post about my diet.

I think oatmeal, tuna, skinless chicken, thats all well and good...but I cannot do more than 2000 calories a day of that kind of food. If I threw in a ton of peanut butter I could but who wants to eat tablespoons of all natural peanut butter?

Right now I'm eating at least 5000+ a day and some days much more than that. My theory is that I'm working out as hard as I can and I'm on a decent amount of gear so if I have caloric excess a good amount of it will be muscle.

My protein sources break down approx like this:

65% ground meat... I go through 1.3-1.8 pounds per day of ground beef or turkey
20% whey protein... 1 shake a day, usually a double or a triple
15% other...can of tuna, hot dogs

speaking of hot dogs today I found at the store a quarter pound hot dog with 32g of fat. why do i look for things high in fat? foods low in fat dont add up fast enough.

I'm at 207-208 pounds right now, I will continue to eat everything in sight until I am ready to start toning it down, which I think will be at the 215-220 range but we'll see when I get there.
 
So today I finally reached the 210 pound mark. +33 pounds in 5 weeks + a couple of days. Yes a bunch of it is water but if I go +45 in 12 weeks I'm pretty sure some of it is muscle haha.
 
214.6 I'm pretty sure its safe to say Liquidex at 1mg a day does absolutely nothing to prevent bloat. I don't know how much is muscle, fat, and water...but theres a lot of all of them.

I have no bench update because this is spring break for the kids I coach and I work out with them and use them for spotters. So this week I'm working out alone and certainly am not going to max.

Today I'm going to go do my shoulder/upper back workout. I normally do some straight leg deadlifts to hit the lower back but I'm pretty sore in my lower back right now (I have chronic back pain) so I might either go real light or do some full motion seated rows with some medium weight. Maybe even avoid the lower back all together.

My sleep has suffered badly the last couple of nights with the introduction of a new puppy into my family
 
Today I had nobody to spot me since my lifting partners (the kids I coach) are on spring break but today I busted out 10 reps at 225!

285 shouldn't be a problem on monday.
 
Awesome read man. Great progress! I'm just did my first injection last Wednesday, and started Dbol, and am waititng for the effects myself.

As far as the bloat... is it obvious? I mean does it make your face look bad?

Naw my face isn't showing any bloat at all, it does look like I'm sorta pudgy and while I've gained some fat...I certainly have 15 pounds of water in me that will make a big difference when I come off the test. I look at it as a game of end results, I don't think I necessairly look better than I did 36 pounds ago, but I will after I cut up at the end. I have quite a bit of bloat in my stomach and combined with it always being stuffed with food, its not ideal looking...but hey the finished product is going to rock.
 
My weight seems to have leveled off at 214, I'm having some problems eating. My body is telling me "stop eating so much it hurts" so I'm reducing calories to maintence for a couple of days.

Anyway...I benched 290 today and failed at 300, then cranked out 11 reps at 225. Every calculator in the world says 11 reps at 225 is better than 300 pounds so should be just around the corner.
 
So today someone came up to me at practice (a parent who helps out with the discus) and said "So what's this about you benching 290, how'd that happen?" WTF does he expect me to say...

Obviously my answer was "I've gotten real serious with my training and I'm eating a lot" but he is a former power lifter I don't think he's buying it. Still, its like what answer do you want "500mg Test Cyp man, its fucking awesome"

I laughed when I read this...I can just imagine the look on the guys face if you were to actually say that. Congrats man on the insane gains, hopefully you can keep alot of it.
 
After some issues with blood pressure from bloat I've decided to take a few weeks while on test to go low carb and cut up a little bit. Then I'll finish off the cycle with a clean diet. I had no problem growing and then all of a sudden my body just stopped and didn't feel very good and I think it was telling me I was too heavy.

So today starts 3 weeks of cutting, hopefully to get down to 195 or so. Morning cardio of stepmill before I eat anything, then I'll stick to low carb foods all day. I lose weight really easily I just hope I don't lose too much muscle.

So yea new plan is

Week 7-12 500mg Test Cyp (the same)
Week 9-14 50mg ED Winny injectable

and perhaps
Week 9-14 100mg EOD Masteron

The diet will be weeks 7,8,9 and I'll then eat CLEAN but plenty of carbs starting week 10 and grow for a little bit after that.

For me I consider the end game to be 200 pounds around 8% and I have a long way to go towards that goal, I can't do it all in 1 cycle.

By my quick count thats 21 sets today, all on the flat bench....now thats a workout.

I'm considering next time doing a similar workout on the incline (less weight obviously). Took about 80 minutes but could probably have been done in an hour there were 3 of us and so it took more time.
 
I'm at 206.8 pounds right now, I feel SOOO much better. My strength is where it was when I was 217 so I'm pretty happy that I was able to get 10 pounds off (mostly water but still) and maintain my strength.

Ag-guys sent me a free bottle of clen in my last order so I'm using that right now and it's pretty good stuff. I am only a few days in but I feel it working for sure. It's a significantly better feeling than xenadrine which leaves me dizzy.

I have finalized how I'm going to end my cycle and here is how it looks:

Week 9 Test Cyp
Weeks 10-14 Test Suspension
Weeks 10-14 Winny Depot
Week 14 1000iu HCG every day for last 10 days of cycle
Week 15-20 AIFM
Week 15-17 Clomid

I'm pretty sure I can put the test/suspension into the same injection every day so that should work out fine.

Winny/Suspension should give me some nice strength gains to finish up.
 
Well heres the update:

I'm down to 204 pounds as of this morning, thats 13 pounds from my max weight. I look a ton better because I'm not all bloated and today I had a bit of a breakthrough. I did 12 reps at 225 which the most I've done.

When I was 217 I did 11 reps and now I'm 204 doing 12, I'd say things are going well.

I'm having a little problem with the suspension but tomorrow I've got some 21g and 22g needles coming so hopefully that takes care of the problem.

Have you tried the Instone protein pudding? I had 72 chocolate ones last order and they really are pretty bad...although totally edible. This time I got the vanilla and they are ALMOST good.

I'm hoping now to finish this last month of my cycle weighing 200 pounds and putting up 305 on the bench, I don't think thats totally unreasonable.
 
So I did my suspension and winny injections in the morning today and maybe it was a coincidence but I did 300 pounds!

300 POUND BENCH WOOHOO!!

or maybe it was the chinese food i cheated with last night.
 
I'm very pumped about this last month of my cycle. My diet is now transitioning from cutting to healthy growth. I needed to get down from the excessive weight I started carrying due to the "eat anything in sight" plan I was using earlier. I am happy with the way my body looks right now but I definitely want to be bigger with a lower body fat. I will try to grow for the last month and then during pct and time off I'll eat to maintain and do some cardio trying to burn a little fat. I'm not going to take the full time on + pct = time off approach. I'm going to run pct, take a month off, get my blood tests done and then hop back on. Then I'll take several 4-5 months off after my second cycle. My reasoning is I'm only about 20 pounds of muscle away from where I'd be pretty satisfied. If I can get 5 in this last month and then 15 next cycle I'll be there!
 
Some people have asked me how I'm taking suspension and winny at the same time. I posted it elsewhere but I'll re-explain how I take both in 1 shot.

It takes a 21g needle to do the suspension and a 25g to do the winny so instead of 1 of each I just load both into the 21g. First I pull back to 1ml, then push that air into the winny vial, then draw out 1 ml of winny. I then pull back to 2ml so I have 1ml of winny and 1ml of air. I then push the 1ml of air into the warmed suspension and pull back 1ml of suspension.

Then I inject into my butt. Sometimes part of it squirts out so gotta be careful.

Weight: 205 and feeling bigger than I have so far.
 
Well it's all over and I'm quite satisfied with my first cycle gaining 60+ pounds on the bench press and putting on about 25 pounds of solid muscle (and a couple pounds of fat).

Things I'm glad I did:
Anavar, glad I started with a no sides oral.
Used Test Cyp

Things I'd change:
I couldn't notice the winny at 50mg/day injection
Never use suspension again, the injections are too much of a pain
Not wait til day 4 or whatever to start my liquidex
Leave the proviron out next time, maybe add a little masteron instead. Proviron is expensive.

The last 6 weeks of my cycle or so I didn't know whether I was bulking or cutting because I got scared that I had put on too much fat when all it was was about 10 pounds of water. Next time I'll control my bloat from the beginning.

The plan is just to run PCT and jump back on. I realize time off is important but I'm young and irresponsible. The planned next cycle is Test, Deca, Dbol with human grade. Maybe run anavar the rest of the cycle after I finish with the dbol. I'll start a new journal for my second bulking cycle. I want to go from 205 to 230, thanks for reading.
 
Excellent read, i'm a new member from another unmentioned board and I was very impressed with your maturity and ability to react to how your body changed and stayed safe. How much did your whole cycle run you in terms of cost? or is this not allowed here?

Can't talk about prices on here...but I will say this...the most expensive stuff I got was also the stuff I won't use again probably.

Var: Probably just use dbol in the future, var is fine but its expensive.
Proviron: Didn't really notice it
Winny: Didn't notice it at all
Suspension: Ouch

on the other hand

Test Cyp: cheap and booya

So learn from my mistakes and avoid the expensive stuff, its worthless!!!!
 
what is your diet and training like now bro? How did the var treat ya? Getttn ready for a test/var cycle myself!

I just got back on another cycle of Test/Deca/Dbol and I'm back to the "eat everything in sight" plan minus sugar. I'm not eating empty calories but I'm eating everything besides that. I dropped down to as low as 197 pounds when I came off but my strength remained. I am going to start a new cycle journal once I feel like the juice has kicked in.

The var was fine, I'm bulking this 1 last time, then I'm going to do strictly cycles that are with the "safe" stuff- var, primo, eq
