*what would gonelifting do?"

what would you do if you mentioned that you were going out to a store and someone said, "OH! can you get me something?" but whether they were busy when they asked or it was over the phone/email... they didn't give you money.

what if you came back with it (a sammich) and they didn't offer to give you money (because they were in a meeting).

what if it was only $4, and it's really just the principal of the thing, and the worry that it may become a habit that you do not want repeated?

what if it was your new boss that you only had for a few days?

Oh the Axe kick, is there anything that you can't solve?

Does it really bother you? It is $4.

4 bux isn't shit, but to others it might mean 1 gallon of gas or some food for the family.

If it bugs you go ask for the money.

no no, it's not the money.
i mean, it might be the money if it were to happen every day, but
in our office, it seems that someone goes out to get lunch while everyone stays in and works. yeah, fuck that... i'm taking a lunch break.
so i'm wondering if my boss is going to ask me to pick him up something every time I go out.

cause even if he pays, my lunch break is MINES.
but really, i hope he doesn't think he's going to do that more often. I didn't mind so much today, since I stole my lunch anyway.

no, really. if he does it again, should I just let it go and never tell anyone where i'm going, or should I say, "oh, that was $6.34.

no no. i don't care about the $4. seriously.

i'm new at this job though, and me buying the boss lunch every day isn't gonna happen. so far, someone has bought his lunch every day, and it's not going to be me again...

Next time just say "I only have enough cash on me to get (whatever YOU were going to get)".

i guess.
the fact that I wear new clothes almost every day better not tip him off that i'm lying.

don't be silly.

"sammich" is code for bj. "sandwhich" is code for "ham and cheese".

my boss is HOT though. like baldwin bros. hot.

hey, there's something else that goes on that confuses me.

people close their office doors. do i knock then go in? knock and wait for an okay?
not knock at all?

my office mate closes our door all the time. it feels very... personal.
oh, today he told me that he doesn't like sharing an office with me because i smile too much and smell nice.

i'm halfway to killing him!!! woohoooooo!

you know the self checkout at the grocery store? if your sushi doesn't ring up when you slide it over the thing, you can just put it in the bag, right?

Knock and go in... I keep my office door closed, people knock then come in. I do the same.

i totally get where you're coming from. the reason I would be bothered by this as well would be that i would never in a million years have someone pick me up lunch and NOT remember to pay them. it IS the principle. I actually never ever ask anyone to pick me up anything while they're out. if anything, if someone asks me if i want something from a place, i pay for my own AND theirs just as a courtesy for them picking it up for me.

in that case you should not only buy his lunch but then ask him to caress your breasts with his tongue/hands

eggzackery.

my last boss would never ask me, but sometimes I'd offer to get her something if she was busy. she'd come over later with a $20 and *I* would have to find change. if i said, "i don't have change" she'd tell me to just keep it.

most times, i'd say no, but i appreciated the offer.

I'll see what happens today.

it wasn't great, but not the worst either. they have a japanese sushi maker. at least, i think he's japanese.

it's a high end grocery store with a real deli.

Damn just tell them they owe you $4.00 bucks. Jebus.

I'd keep buying his lunch for a week
if he doesn't offer any $$
spit in his food everyday for the next week

see how this turns out, then we'll go to plan B

Well, I know fer sure self-serves keep tabs on cantaloupe. "An item has been placed in your bag which has not been accounted for". :worried:

Take it out of the business expense drawer/cash drawer. ha jk

#6 Gonelifting would not go out to get something to eat.

Knock, then go in. But I would also ask the first time I did it if it was OK. Hopefully the person can tell you definitively what to do next time. <Knock-knock.. "Hi, I didn't know if it was OK to just open the door or not". Then whatever his/her reply was, should be good.

or just ask a trusted person in the office about the knocking thing. Also ask them about the lunch buying thing.

When I worked in construction (yes I did!) We always had one guy go out and get lunch. Every single day he would get stiffed by someone. wtf? It bothered me almost as much as it bothered him. I always had my money out and ready to give to him as soon as he came in the door from buying lunch. Others would "wait till they finished..." then they're forget. blah blah. WTF?
Just pay the man as he enters, period! ARGGGG!.

This is how I would do it. It's a win-win situation. If you go again and he asks you again, just 'add' the two trips together and tell him that. "$4 for Monday, and $6 today... $10." Then he'll see the light. If he doesn't ask again, then it was a one time thing, and the $4 price was not too much to pay for a one time thing.

I wouldn't really ask if I could pick something up for anyone. Just like I don't ask "How are you?" if I don't want an answer.

I know he asked you. That's messed up. But who knows, he might surprise you.

i knew GL would have the answer!

friday I was in meetings all day. apparently, i'm important.
i like being in meetings all day because when youre in meetings you dont have to actually do any work

except at 2pm i hadn't eaten lunch yet and was seriously about to cry from being so weak with hunger. I had a tiny breakfast and not much to eat the night before. the meeting I was in was so technical and i was fading out of consciousness, when the CEO said, "and stilleto, this is where YOU come in".
what?
what?

I just nodded my head, and when he left to take a phone call, i said I had to get some water and ran to my office and ate.

at 4, i just crashed and couldn't stay awake anymore.

wtf you should do like me and take amphetamines in the morning. you can go all day without eating or getting tired.

but then at 7pm you crash onto the couch :worried:
