There is some truth to the idea of anavar increasing height. Anavar, marketed in the US under oxandrin, is indicated for growth retardation. Anavar was found to be equally effective to growth hormone with less side effects and less cost. It's widely used in Turner's syndrome for this purpose too. It turns out that anavar causes amazing spikes in growth hormone release, yet another amazing property of this amazing drug.

I have done this many times for patients in my practice. Furthermore, my own son had growth retardation (25%-my mom is like an elf . . . ) so we used anavar under supervision at age 8 to bring him to 75%. I wish the pediatrician had made him an NBA player so that dad (me) could retire and just workout!!

The dose was 2.5mg/day for a year. If you go heavier on the dose, the androgenic properties of anavar come into play, and you will fuse the growth plates making you shorter. There was no advanced puberty or other problems. Blood cell counts need to be monitored, but they were never a problem. The only thing is your friend is like 9 years too late for this. You are supposed to be like 7 or 8 years old. It might help a little now, but there can't be much benefit at this age.

var is used clinically for stunted growth and no studies have shown that it is beneficial if used to treat those that are within "normal" height ranges. This kid isn't 5'3", he's 5'9" which is about average. As far as were all wrong, go read through the original posters questions. increases protein synthesis.... aka aids in muscular growth, not BONE growth (which would make you taller)

wrong bro, anavar was actually CREATED for short stature children to make them taller. It does promote linear bone growth.

Well you're wrong. Using a drug to treat a person with a genetic growth disorder does not mean it will be effective on a person without the disorder.

Also, many studies were done with much higher doses in the early days of oxandrolone without it closing growth plates.
