I don't know if anyone has been following this case in Italy but they are supposed to announce the verdict shortly.

Here's a brief article about the case. The main point is she's a hot 22 year old American chick charged with murder in Italy.

Perugia, Italy (CNN) -- A verdict is expected Friday night in an Italian court in the murder trial of American student Amanda Knox and her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito.
Knox and Sollecito are charged with murder and sexual violence in the November 2007 stabbing death of Meredith Kercher. Knox and Kercher, a British exchange student, were roommates. A third suspect was found guilty in a separate trial and is appealing.
The verdict is expected to be announced at 6 p.m. ET or soon after, two lawyers associated with the case said.
Crowds are already gathering outside the courthouse in Perugia, Italy.
Watch live coverage of the verdict on CNN TV and cnn.com.
Back home in West Seattle, Washington, Knox's aunt Janet Huff and other family members are anxiously awaiting word of the verdict.
"I can't eat, I'm just too nervous," Huff told CNN. "You don't know when it's going to come. It could be any minute, it could be tomorrow. I'm just scared to death. At the same time, we're really hopeful and really glad that it's over. We just hope it's over for good."

I've just read about this story. Weird. I don't want to kill anyone and can't comprehend why someone would do that to another (unless the other posed a mortal danger).

She was convicted.

26 years in prison. That's pretty light considering the crime. I still have lots of doubts that she's guilty. They already had convicted one person in it and he said he didn't even know Amanda Knox at first but then he changed his story to match the prosecutors theory. I guess he got something in return for changing his story.

It's just never seems to end well when Americans get caught up in the legal systems of other countries.

I'm not saying that she wasnt there, or wasnt under the influence of WHATEVER when the boys murdered her but there was really no evidence that she was in fact guilty of murder herself. Good lesson of being careful when you leave the country

How could a girl with long hair go into a room and commit a violent act and not leave behind any hair samples? The judge would not let forensic specialists testify on her behalf. The prosecutor changed the motive three times during the course of the trial. At least they do not have a death sentence in Italy.

Too bad she wasn't a famous filmmaker and can just claim the judge renegged on a promnise and prosecution misconduct and while on appeal live in a chalet.

ah the difference money makes in the world! She's poor, so hell yeah she's going to jail! blame mommy daddy for not being millinoaires and not showing u how to use the film camera.

This country is not sooo innocent either when it comes to convicting innocent peoples.
