Am I being set up for a controlled delivery?

Well I was supposed to recieve a package Saturday, shipped UPS overnight with Saturday delivery indicated. On Sat, the package was supposedly attempted to be delivered but the reciever was not home so the delivery was rescheduled for today, Monday.

Well the MBE I recieve at was open and the owner was very present when the package was said to have been delivered. He contacted UPS, who claimed that the address on the package was correct but he was not in his store. He was.

He said that UPS saturday delivery was rare and when I contacted my source, he told me that it was not uncommon for UPS Saturday delivery men to simply say they attempted to deliver the package when they did not and schedule it for Monday since they are paid by the number of packages they deliver and would rather not make a trip for only one package.

Well that makes sense, but if they are going to be so lazy, then why do they charge over $100 for Saturday delivery when they do not deliver. Nor did they make any sort of accomodations for me to pick up the package over the weekend. They said I had to wait until today to get the package.

Needless to say my place is spotless as I was filled with the urge to clean like crazy over the past two days:)

Am I being paranoid or set up for the target of a controlled delivery? Place your bets, in a few hours I'll be able to give you an answer. :D

well this is interesting!! we get saturday deliveries all the time at work and if there is someone there to sign we get it! let us know unless you are in sing sing.

"...it was not uncommon for UPS Saturday delivery men to simply say they attempted to deliver the package when they did not." - I'm alittle late here but I know a UPS guy and he does this. UPS is the worst shipper. They overload their drivers forcing them to do this kind of thing.

once I had a package that was addressed to me, but was delivered clear across town. The only way I knew that my package was delivered to the wrong addy was the people that got it called me asking me to come get it

I called UPS and at first they refused to pick it back up and deliver it to me, finally I talked to a superviser and I got it the next day

Some lucky resident from Ohio received a whole box of Legal Muscle books that were supposed to be shipped to the Arnold Classic in February. UPS never located the package... Thanks UPS!
