I am all about egalitarianism. If she does not have something to bring to the table that allows her to be independent (i.e. career or marketable skills), then she is useless to me.

I think all women should work - it's good to feel useful and learn pride and humbleness - not to mention have your own cash flow to do with as you wish.
Gets trickie when children are born though - can't really make any comment on that - mothers are an enigma for me.
If the roles were reversed for a while - women bred as the bread winner, holder of the hopuse, responsible for the family and men where traded to looking good but not speaking unless needed, responsible for looking good 24/7, get a monthly period, do house cleaning, child birthing perhaps them man and woman could appreciate the opposite sex better.

I agree, but for my own reasons. Stereotypically men want sex with attractive women, women want men with money. If prostitution was legal and women had good careers, then alot of the pressure the sexes go through to impress each other would ideally be lifted.
LOL. I suppose a lot higher than security officer. But I know why I am where I'm at. I've turned down good job offers because I wouldn't have been able to spend enough time with my daughter.
I just want a chick who has common sense........difficult to find. I know plenty of 'smart' people with no common sense.
Like saving money, knowing geography (other than how to get from home to the shopping mall), an interest or at least knowledge of basic finance, having street smarts etc.
No, I don't think it's contradictory. It's along the lines of it doesn't matter where you are - it matters where you are going or something to that effect.
Having a job is important and making a living, but it's even more important to actually have some direction in life.
