Alternatives to tuna

I need some ideas for alternatives to canned tuna
I have a whacky intollerence to the stuff :(
Before tuna was a cheap source of excellent protein for me that was versatile but i've been getting major stomach aches with it. I had a food alergy test and that was one of the things that came up (along with milk)

so what (apart from chicken breasts which i already have)
are good alternatives that are cheap?

Salmon's good but two/three times the price

Thanks

I've been buying the canned chicken and turkey along with the tuna... I just can't eat tuna day after day. It gets boring, you know?

Plus, it's cheap.

Serving Size : 60 g Carbohydrates : 0.1 g

Fat : 4.2 g

yeah, that's what I would've suggested....

there's always deli meats.....

canned tuna is just so cheap and convenient......

1 can of tuna costs me about 50pence and has 35gms of protein 0 fat

the same for eggs, i'd need about 10egg whites which sots me over 3 times the price :(

don't get me wrong, I love me some deli meat but it has soooo much sodium in it. I don't like cottage cheese, but that is a great source of protein and relatively inexpensive. I say, shop at a big box store like Sam's or Costco (I live in So. Cali) and buy in bulk, portion out what you need to and stash the excess in the freezer. That's what I do...my freezer is pretty well stocked for a single chick and my cupboards are overflowing with food...every guys dream! :p

I like the chicken version of the tuna, but it isn't exactly cheap! Try making your tuna more exciting...add salsa and avocado to it. Whatever you like...it doesn't always have to be mayo.

Yeah I have found that just some slasa or even hot sauce on tuna makes it great.

Also you gotta love tuna melts--on wheat bread with a couple slices of tomato and a fat-free cheese slice!

oooh, haven't made that! Personally, I'd 86 the tomato...a little avocado tastes good on just about anything though!

I need a g/f like this so I can go raid her fridge when I'm low on food.....

:D

my b/f is really good in the kitchen (and everywhere else for that matter)! I like to cook, but he always wants to be the one hookin' it up in the kitchen (hence his profile--bignate73)! He's planning on cooking me dinner tonight too...wonder what it'll be tonight...he recently bought a turbo cooker and has been going off with it...yum, yum, gimme some!

oh, well... I guess I'm just lucky! ;)

Cook an assload of steak on the weekend and slice it up and divide it up into plastic baggies for the week.

I never get tired of steak.

Here is a good tuna dish.

Prepare kraft dinner as usual
pour it into a caserole dish
add in a can of tuna
add in a can of cream of mushroom soup.
Mix it up
put cracker crumbs on top
Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes.

Give it a try it tastes pretty good.
