Almost done with Tbol only cycle.

We'll this was my first cycle ever. Stats 25y 5'7 150lbs 13% bf been working out for 6 years 5-6 days a week. Started very clean diet year and half ago. Trying to bulk in the winter and leaning out for the summer. I have maxed out my body naturally and with every over the counter supp there is. So I figured it was time to come over to the dark side. I did alot of research and found Tbol to be my first choice. I know its not really for bulking but everythign I read was about people gaining around 15lbs. So I started a 5 week cycle with 20/20/40/40/50. I have to say I was really hoping to put on atleast 10lbs, but i'm almost done and have added only maybe 4lbs to the scale. I really did not have any sides effects and really didn't start to notice a big diff until the 40mg ed. (As all my reading on here has told me that 40mg is the magic number.) I def have better definition and look slightly bigger. My strength has gone through the roof and I can put up some good weight considering my size, but I really can't figured out why I can't put on weight. I eat all day long (3-4k cal) and really would be happy with a clean 165lbs. Maybe my job! On my feet all day? Walk about 5miles a day? Stressfull? Maybe my diet? I would rather post my diet in here then the nutri forum as it seems theres alot more knowledge in here if you guys want to see it. But all in all it has been a good learning experience and will keep reading everythign I can on AS.

Ye post it up man, you'll get some great advice here, if its a problem im sure someone will move it. Btw theres a big difference between 3k and 4k calories. If your doing a cycle you should probably know how much your eating to within 200 or 300 cals. Before anyone does a cycle they should defo have a food diary for atlest six months so you can see on paper what does and doesnt work for you and its good to look bk on. Consistency is the key to gaining weight. just my thoughts lol
 
Magic number is more like 60.
But here is the deal if you need 5000cal to gain and you only eat 4000cal then you are not going be successful.
By the results it seems that you didnt eat enough
 
150 at 5'7 is no where near your natural limit. I would take another look at your diet and training. Post up both your diet and training and wel have a look.

Also found that 20mg tbol only is pointless. The difference for me at 30mg and 40mg is huge so its possible the 4lbs came at the end of the cycle? Just some thoughts.
 
You might have done better if you had started a lot higher than 20.
40 is a good minimum from what I've read but I probably would have gone with 60. At the same time I have to say that you probably haven't reached anywhere near your natural maximum potential at 150LBS, before taking Tbol. IMO steroids are best used to take yourself to the next level, not speed up what you could have done naturally. And if your goal was to put on impressive size, then Dbol might have been a better choice.

How were your strength gains?

this tells me your problem is your diet (its not clean enough, 150 pounds at your height and age and 13% bf? you should be at 6%) in my running days I was your height and 150 pounds but my bf was 6% and i was older. so your stats dont add up in my mind but without seeing a pic i could be wrong.

and if you are working out for 6 years 5-6X per week then you are not working out properly.

how many sets are you doing? 3 or 4 sets then leaving the gym is not gonna do it. you can mantain yourself like that and its better then drinking beer on your couch every night, but not gonna build anything.

perhaps your test levels are naturally low.. have u been tested? some backgrounds struggle with weight gain.. i trained with a guy an entire summer once back in high school and he had no gains and I was jacked. everyone is different.


post your diet and workouts and lets see what we can do here. how much protein are you taking in per day?

I think tbol wasn't the best idea for you for a first cycle.. go with injectables, test.
 
If the guy did well and made gains and learned something, I don't understand the point of saying he needed to do MORE.
 
I agree with everything here, but I will also point out something I always point out with tbol - it's a 4 weeker. MOST anyone including myself, report minimal to no gains starting in as earlier as week 4 unless the dosage is decently upped. Tbol just seems to tank at 4 weeks. It also has a long half life for an oral, so it "builds up" over time. So when you ran 20mg and 20mg in week 1 and 2, you weren't really running a good dose during the time in which it shines. I put on 3-4lbs in week 1-3 each time, and week 4 always just tapered right off. And tbol also needs lots of protein. Each time I was running a mere 3500 calories, but very high in protein (400g+) and the anabolism and recovery was fantastic - my farts were also room-clearing as well.

The other issue could be that you had underdosed UG gear.

exactly, yeah a lot of these younger guys dont eat enough.. they dont have enough money or eat what their baby boomer parents keep around the house, which is mostly processed and fatty junk.

I really hope you don't put me into that category. I hate coming onto these forums and post some questions trying to learn and just because I tell my stats I'm automatically put into a group. A group of kids that are just looking for the easy way out and haven't put in the time. So I will help you exclude me fromt that group. Yeah I'm 25y 5'7 154lbs 14% bf , but I got a good job and have worked my way up to make over six figures a year have 3 cars and a nice size boat payed for by me. I have been working out for over 6 years and had double carpal tunnel surgery 1 year ago. I was a little over 160lb and dropped down to 145lb after not being able to lift for months. I have been back in the gym and dieting to the best of my knowledge. I feel I have physically hit a wall with what I know and what I can actually eat in a day without hindering my work day. So this is why I came on here researching and finally doing my first cycle. I started at 20mg just to see how it would effect me and was kind of nervous. And I'll get that diet up asap. And I am really not trying to be a dick and have no hard feelings for anybody on here just need some guidance from you old guys!! haha

HEy bro thats the name of the game....you tried something... it didnt work the way you hoped. NOw you take that and next time you try something else. Thats why if you make a poll for the best oral you would get 6 different answers. You make your own decision as to wether to try it again with higher doses or if you want to go a diferent direction all together. I, and many others here, find it hard to beat test only for your first "real" cycle. Goodluck!
 
Live and learn might be the answer in this case.

Wait a few months and try again. Run a new tbol cycle of 50 to 60mg for 4 weeks and see how you get on. Like d_rson stated tbol looses effect on the body after 4 weeks for most people. He stated a 3-4lbs gain each week which I would agree with. My last tbol cycle was 60mgs for 4 weeks and I gained 13 pounds and kept 10. Also it was pointed out that you may of had some bad UG gear so who knows.
