r-ala is a naturally occuring co-factor.. which has insulin like properties, improves the action of insulin and decreases plasma insulin (all considered to be VERY HEALTHY effects)
your body makes r-ala (though albeit in smaller quantities than most people would like).. one of the dietary sources of r-ala is meat (though processing and cooking does destroy a lot of it)
on the other hand phentermine and fenfluramine when combined (a serotonergic agent and an amphetamine derivative) have been liked to some negative consequences (though how strong the link is unclear and due to the user population.. in which the heart valve issue is more common.. the results may be skewed). this combination or even indvidually could never be seen as healthy.. but merely as a means to an end..
though if your meaning was to intimate that its use and effectiveness (from a fat loss perspective) were to become as widespread and celebrated.. then that would not be an "unkind" comparison
