ALA and my blood values - not good

MrRTTB

New member
I got these via phone and think they messure by "µkat/l"

GT: 0.35
ASAT: 1,4
ALP 1.8
AT(maybe they said ALAT) 1,0

Everything was fine except liver. The doc told me they were slight elevated, will see him again in one week and probably take some more tests. I've been taking ALA for a long time, not R-ALA. I stepped off a cycle with tren and EQ in jan 1 and these tests were taken 1 month after that. I week before that I was pretty hammered so maybe that is why they are high. I know this ALA helps me with not gaining fat, because I've once been an easygainer and now I almost can't gain any fat while taking ALA. But I also thought It would help me with the liver, but I guess it doesn't, not very much anyway. I've been taking 2g-3g per day for 5 months.

I have a confession to make.

This board is the only place I heard ALA was good for the liver. There must be studies, but I've yet to see them.

I'm also not convinvinced of the other advantages of ALA. It's best, and maybe overlooked benefit is that it works comparably to GH in the way it lowers blood sugar. Then again, 5000 mgs would put me in a coma. I can't see how some people can tolerate that much. ALA also tends to leave the muscles "flat" -- the exact opposite of what vanadly sulfate did. You could say ALA is a poor mans GH and Vanadly is a poor mans slin.

When it comes to liver protection I'd stick with the sure things. Milk Thistle has been proven over and over to be effective, but all it takes is one "guru" to say it's ineffective and everyone starts agreeing as to not appear un-hip. Milk Thistle WORKS! Inositol, NAC, lecithin, TMG, Choline and dandelion are good too. Use them ALL.Your liver deserves it. You're gonna need it.

ALA doesnt make my muscles flat. Quite the opposite actually for me.

as far as the poster, i dont think ALA messed up your liver enzymes, i would think all that tren, and maybe your beer drinking had something to do with it.

but what do i know?

Lol@Milk Thistle

Nelson, i thought you had done SOME research.

NAC: Yes.

Inositol: No.

Lecithin, TMG, Choline, dnadelion :no.

Co-Q10: Yes

Glutathione: yes

r-ala is the best liver aid on the planet. End of story.

The studies have been posted time and tiem again.

Seems like the past three times I had my blood work done I got hammered the week before. It seems to just works out like that and every time my liver values are a little elevated. I would go to the doctor and have it checked again and it would be normal. The doc visits would be about 2-3 weeks after first test.

DITTO FONZ on this one Nelson.

Have you done any research at all on this???

I can pull up countless studies on ALA showing its NUMEROUS health benefits.

Milk thistle is like comparing a moped to a ferrari...It's a joke compared to ALA. There is LESS research on Milk Thistle than there is on ALA, so again, your argument for milk thistle is very, very MUTE!

It's funny that you recommend NAC but not ALA...kind of contradicting. Anything that NAC can basically do, ALA can do better, since it can also be reduced to DHLA in the body.

I'm sorry to say it Nelson, but you are NOT gonna be the "guru" that everybody is gonna follow on this......and no, i'm no guru either.
