As the owner of a 125lb. Male Rotty I say this is bullshit.
He claims that Rotty's and Pitts are bred for aggression and nothing more and that it has become a trademark for the breeds.
Ive owned both breeds, and although (no offense intended) Ive found the Rotty more willing to learn (more likely due to its working bred instinct) Ive found both breeds to be excellent in soooo many ways.
I have a 2yr. old son who plays with my Rott very roughly sometimes and the dog does not budge, and at the very roughest will growl and remove himself from the room.
I find it funny that the house I bought some 4 months ago attracted neighbors that adored my dog...none of which feared him due to the stereotypical myths of the dog.
Ive always maintained that its not the breed you have, its the way its raised, along the lines of children, but you must understand the "pack theory" and the "alpha" role" with a dominant dog.
If your dog needs to be shot, then the owner should....be shot first...this does not include the severe inbreeding of a dog as this happens with many AKC breeds.....thus do your research on your dog, demand hip X-rays with an E rating for large breed pups and be sure the papers on both bitch and sire go back at least 10 generations.
Peace,
WCP
