Just like special gear, airsoft has it's nich in china. To get the best prices you got to get it from bruce at
www.airsoftshop.com . Don't be suprised at the similarities of the emails and stuff either.
And just like special gear from china you need to think of customs. They are a little bit of a risk but my gun got through with them. They need to put orange paint on the barrel to get it through, but it can be scratched off with your nail.
As far as choosing a gun they are all pretty much the same. The internals are all the same with the exception to 2 motor types, that don’t really make a difference. I don’t want to get too into internals because I will confuse you too much.
Even though the internals are the same, some guns are more realistic than others.
The AUG out of all of them is the most realistic. It comes apart like the real one, is almost the same weight, and has the same bullpup design as the real one that give you really good range. The barrel length on the AUG is longer than some Sniper rifles. The Aug also feels very real when shooting because the gears are right below your chin. The AUG yet is also a very ugly gun to most people. That’s the draw back.
So basically if you just want something cheep: anything that looks cool and has a good price will look fine, but if you want realism I would look in an aug or make sure you get a metal body upgrade with any colt or HK model you get. But really it does not matter.
Classic army has full metal MP5’s stock. I think this is a perfect solution to getting a metal body for a beginner rather than buying a gun taking it apart and upgrading.

You can get involved in the community by starting at
www.arisfotzone.com and registering on the message board. Look around there. Ask people for advice. Do searches for gun models and see what people like and don’t like. Make sure what gun you are interested in is very upgradeable.
Also there you can find if you have any organizations in your local area. Most areas have groups, teams that all get together once and a while and play. You need to have something like this in your area because airsoft is an independent sport. There are no places that you can go sign up and pay like you do for paintball. ( maybe there are now but not that many )
Pistols and shotguns are cool. Some shotguns are a little plasticy I think, but they are cool. I like the way the have shell like ammo feed with pump action and the fact it sprays bbs just like a real shotgun would. A hand gun is always fun to have too. But nothing is better in game than a fully automatic rifle with accurate aim.People who have pistols and shotguns don’t actually use them that much; they just get them for show of for fun.
