Air in Syringe?

craig145 said:
ok so i do .5cc tren and .5cc test prop, and when im done i pull back some air in the syringe so i dont spill it when im changing the pinz.. and this time i was too fuckin stoned to realize i didnt push the air out and i had to finish the shot with the air..should i be worried about this..??

since you typed this. . .i assume that you're still alive. . .so "no" you don't need to be worried. . .

not that you should be injecting lots of air into your muscles but, i believe it takes like 4cc's of air, injected directly into a vein or artery, to kill you. . .

to make sure that you haven't hit anything vital, you should always aspirate prior to injection. . .period. . .

Might want to do the injection sober next time eh? The air must get into your vein like they said for a potential problem. It could create a venous air embolism. Most likely it would travel to your lungs an create a serious problem pretty quickly. But since you aspirate everytime -right?- then there isn't anything to worry about.

like i said it takes a lot but your body will naturally purge small amounts.
Bro, that's a wives tale. Air bubbles don't kill you, and I would go as far as to say it's NEVER happened. Maybe if you injected about 20cc's of air directly into a vein you may have problems but that's just getting rediculous

Bros,
I always aspirate when I hit my delts. When I do aspirate, no blood comes back, just some tiny bit of air. Ok, however when i'm done injecting I leave the pin inside for a few seconds then withdraw. Once I have injected all the oil, and am at that period of of few seconds before I withdraw, that is when blood comes into the needle.

Should I be worried?

Once a volume of air is introduced into a peripheral vein, it can potentially make its way through to the Right Atrium and Ventricle, and then on into the pulmonary vasculature. Here air may occlude the microvasculature increasing dead space and damaging the vessels lining. This in turn, may trigger an inflammatory response resulting in noncardiogenic pulmonary oedema and bronchoconstriction.

Like i said it takes a lot. An unprimed IV can/has killed infants and elderly.

an unprimed IV will not flow. To get that much ai rin the vein you have to force it. The amount of air to kill some one is far grater than what is in the IV lines. the body will absorb long before it goes and cause an air emboli. it takes around 60 cc to kill a cat.

venous goes to the heart first. that is where your problem would happen.
