ahh, my computer told me it was missing a system.registry file....

it chucked meinto a prompt, and told me to run SCANREG, and when i did it said a file was missing or had been removed and it replaced it with an old copy


question....why the hell did it do that?!? used it fine last night and it just happened this morning. is it just probably a corrupted file or something more sinister?

p.s. my monitor has been acting kind funny too, it de-gausses all the ime (i think thats the word for it. it basically flickers very briefly, less than half a second and makes a clicking noise. pic has stayed normal mostly evry tiome and it doesnt happen very often. only mntioned it out of hand

I don't know about your system file problem. I'm sure there's some techies around here who can tell you for sure what's up...

As for your monitor, it might be on it's last leg. My old screen started doing the exact same thing a few weeks before it died. You might try re-installing the monitor drivers (if your system requires them) -- sometimes new software causes conflicts and you have to go back and reinstall old programs, etc.
