Advice on pug dog

So there's a breeder I know. He called me the other day and told me about a mini pug dog that would be ready in 3 weeks. From what he told me, he only gets such a little one every 2-3 years. Its max adult weight should be around 5 lbs, while usually a pug is over 8 lbs easily. It will cost me 250$ only while it could be sold for 800$.

Now I was wondering this: is it a risk ? Should I expect health problems ?

why is he only selling it for $250??

if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. My sister has a pug.. it's about 10 months old now and she paid like 800 for it. It's from a breeder so that is a positive thing, but find out why he wants to sell it so cheap. Obviously it isn't as good as a regular pug to warrant a $550 discount.

pugs are notorious for health problems. They also have a serious propensity for distemper.

They are cute when they are puppies...but grow into some really ugly ass adult dogs.

I'd go with a lab.

he's not making a discount. Thats his usual price. He's the supplier for most pet-shops in Montreal.

Hazards are you might step on it one day and squish it.

J/k brotha. do a search on the net and you'll find your answers.

CHECK THE BLOODLINE AND PAPERWORK ON THE DOG. THAT WILL TELL YOU A LOT. SEE IF THERE IS A HISTORY OF ILLNESSES OR SOMETHING IN THAT BLOODLINE.

OH YEAH, FUCK YOU. GOTTA KEEP US ARGUING YOU KNOW. WE HAVE BEEN GETTING ALONG A LITTLE TOO WELL LATELY. LOL

Tomorrow I'll go see the breeder. He'll show me the parents and his facility so I can judge by myself. Otherwise I'll go for a normal pug which are 200$.

They're really quiet. For a little dog, they're really not yappy. I thik that almost all breeds have tendancies towards health problems-- mostly the result of irresponsible breeding. If you're going to be working with a good breeder, he/she should be able to tell you about the health history of the particular line of dogs you'll be looking at. Good luck!!
