adding speed pulls to De squat

i add these aprox every 2 DE w/o.
what I do is drop my squats from 9 sets, to 7 sets, then add 4 or 5 sets of speed pulls.
is this correct , or what would/do you guys do ??
 
i just started adding snatch grip high pulls to mine recently and i love em..i do 7-8 singles after my 8-10 sets of 2 @ 50% w/chains(box squat)
 
I do speed pulls every DE squat workout. I sometimes use bands other times just straight weight. The bands are great. If you don't have a platform to attach them to, you can just stand on them. It work pretty well.

Werent you just doing them every-other-week not to long ago? Ive started doing them this way, as well as strict partials as you reccomended, and I feel like its making a BIG difference.

Guess I'll find out for sure at the end of this month!

VDOP, over the summer I think we did speed pulls every week, most of the time with bands, sometimes not. Don't remember saying we did them everyother week. If I did, maybe I need to check my workout log to make sure. Anyway, good to hear you think your pull is going up. I'm going to try and make it down to your meet as a spectator.
 
VDOP, yeah that's what we were doing at the beginning of the summer. We put speed pulls in every week shortly after that. After our ME movement, we would throw in some rack pulls for multiple sets of 5 or 3 to really focus on pushing our hips through at the top. Seemed to work.

How many reps in the speed would you pull? Ive been doing 4-6 with maybe 45 secs rest between.

VDOP, we usually do singles or doubles on speed pulls with 45sec. to a minute rest. We would do around 6-8 sets.

Rack pulls were done more at the beginning of the summer and we did them about everyother week. Towards the end, we dropped them and focused more on speed pulls.

I'm going to try and make it to the Tulsa meet. I guess Matt and Chris may end up lifting there now. Talk to you later.
 
i still do my 10 sets on speed squats and do speed deadlifts for 7 sets. its takes some time to get used to it. tb

trying to work up to it .
right now im doing 9 sets squats,
5 sets deads
