Acne

My problems arise after PCT, I tend to shower frequently, tan 2x week/ and use the Neutrogena shower SCRUB, not gel...seems to work nicely..

Anyone who has tried and failed/succeeded with this, post up.
In other threads I have seen posts by some who use vitamin E @ 1000 iu ED, and vitamin B5 (panothenic acid) @ 1000 - 1500 mg ED. Also, some say its complete horsepiss.

Opinions???????

Not trying to be a thread hijacker, just seemed logical to ask here.

Yes, its called accutane and no, nothing else will get rid of it. I've tried every myth here about acne, and they don't work. accutane, accutane, accutane! :)

I was checking out accutane and the warnings basicly said: If you take this you will get all kinds of side effects and want to kill yourself. I guess if you actually get it prescribed by a doc you have to sign a form saying you are aware of the possible side effects.....WTF?

Thats the only option???......I hope I don't need it.

I've been around for quite awhile but this is my first post here.
I used get BAD acne sides. Took somebody's advice on the EF board here and got some vitamin E and vitamin A. I had to experiment with the right doses but finally it worked like a charm. I would def try it before taking something more expensive that gives more sides.

My dermatologist prescribed Differin gel. I apply it nightly before going to bed. It has worked like a charm and I actually starting ordering it through an on-line pharmacy in the UK because it it less expensive than paying my prescription copay in the US.

If Differin isn't strong enough you can also get Retin-A cream from on-line pharmacies.

Accutane is great, somewhere around 7th grade I developed terrible acne. It wasn't just a surface problem I could wash my face consistently and use over the counter stuff to get rid of so my mom made me an appt. with a dermatologist who prescribed it to me. It's an extremely expensive program but worth every penny for someone who really needs it. They've got warnings all over it about having suicidal thoughts and the possibility of commiting suicide because the suicide rate for users of the drug is higher than normal. Coincidentally, the average candidate for accutane to whom it would be the most help is going to be someone who's acne is so severe that it in most cases contributes a bit to the low self esteem and poor self image they likely have. In other words they give accutane to the worst cases of acne, alot of times kids who feel like shit because they feel they look like shit. Not a surprise that if you compound the self esteem problem with some of the other shit that life throws at you you'll have a few people that just find it too hard to hang on. I took the stuff, it worked great and in fact helped me feel better about life and about myself, it'll dry your skin out like you'd never imagine, but none the less its great stuff....hope this helped....
